Bed bugs can fit in any small crack. Be very very careful that they haven’t hitched a ride in the van. Someone brought them into my apartment building years ago and it has been a horror show since then.

Invest in food grade diatomaceous earth! Buy in bulk. It’s the ONLY thing that worked for us and we haven’t dealt with a single bed bug since (plus they kill other bugs) trust me- IT WORKS!!

I've really enjoyed following y'all on your adventures so. I'd really like to see ya get more beyond the bland tho. (Wal Mart, hotel, truck stop,etc) So here are just a few things to consider. All night laundromat. Keep an eye out for access roads that lead to billboards, cell towers. In coastal areas there are boat dock areas that expect parking.(fla.) but you'll need to be very low profile about the. There's more but anyway... Congrats and good luck. Its worth putting extra effort into finding good spots.

I hated Tuscon. I live in NW AZ and have since 1991. But I lived in Norwalk right next to Downey from 75 to 89. The street I lived on is actually called Downey Norwalk Rd. The house might be demolished to widen the 605 freeway. I'm very sad. Lots of memories there.
