White Sands is amazing!! I lived in Alamogordo, NM for like 16 months as a kid. Lots of cool stuff to see in NM if you go hiking! Fossils, critters, etc.

Having too many clothes on while ur able to be snuggled with another body gives the opposite effect while trying to stay warm. 3 years in a 4runner VT winters. You can get travel electric blankets so warm also those warmers for feet and finger even body warmers we used to throw those in the blankets with us also. Give it a shot good luck

Quick tip from a former vanlifer and cold-showerer: start with your arms and legs, then head and at last the torso. That's what you'd do after sauna as well. The shock to your system won't be as big. :)
