Last Day of Harvest 2019! What a year.. Harvesting the last 80 acres, 50 of them being our county test plot. Then we play a game of tetris finding a spot for every last bushel of grain in the bins. Tillage Continues.. Demoing the 2660 Vertical Tillage Disc again.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I am the city boy from California that blows into northern Iowa every other year for two weeks to "help" with the family farms and the harvest. Run the combines, do some tillage, drink some beer, and fly back to CA. Your videos bring a new appreciation to me and all non-farmers as to what all farmers go through. If my dad were still alive, the stories of the past and amazement going from the Farmall B (which cousin had restored) and threshers to what you show would astound him. Blessing to all.

its always a fantastic time. But i get the easy part in an air conditioned cab. Best thing is for me is to shut up, drive, and not upset cuz by doing something stupid. Out of 30 or so trips back, it is sinking in slowly i guess. 🤔😎. Stay safe! ✌️

My 5-yo and I have been watching you for about a month now and I'm finally getting John Deere ads on the internet. Wish I had more than 0.68 acres. I did buy a Deere x350 to manage the land I do have. When I was thinking about buying it my wife said "You know there will be disappointment if you come home with anything other than green and yellow." Zach, wish you could have got the commission!!!

loved the last comment, "I miss the combine already". Only a farmer would understand. You work long hours for weeks, pushing for the end. Great days, frustrating days, long days. Will we get it out, will we get a decent yield, will anything else break. Focus, focus, focus. Then suddenly, its over. Kind of feel lost for a day or so.

I have always cut the strings on my hoodies as well . Grandpa told us about a guy who was caught in a lathe by strings on a hoodie that man was almost strangled when another worker saved him . We run a landoll vertical tillage tool that is 35 feet wide behind our 9560rt. It works great on corn stalks. We try to do long term notill but we still do tillage on heavy soils and we run a tillage schedule of every 4 years. a field gets tillage every year if we plant corn on corn. Nice video glad to see that your family got all of the crops in stay safe !

Farming large and small. Hardships and joys. The personal side of farming, the worrying about making it each year and the joy of finishing the harvest. Dreams for the future.

A quiet day at the Fire Station has allowed me time to watch the last year of your video's. In the one from early spring this year, you spend the day dragging a battery charger around jump starting everything and wondering why the batteries are always dead. I maybe have a theory, It could be a combination of cold weather and the 2 way radios in the vehicles. Even though the display turns off when you shut off the ignition, The radio still draws power to maintain the radio program memory. Not a big deal when the weather is warm but in cold weather with the normal draw from the cold, the radio draw down just seems to happen quicker. We have to keep any vehicles at the station that are parked outside on shore power the help keep this from happening. Another way of helping it would be to put a Battery Isolator between the battery the radio power is connected to and the rest so the radio only draws one down instead of all of them. The video's are great. They are very informative and you are a good instructor. Enjoy your "off season"

As a non farmer I love watching the videos and the information gained from them. Without giving more information then you are comfortable with could you provide some approx costs for some of the equipment and supplies you are using? You wrote a seed check what does it cost, you needed new tillage points what does that set you back, your combine was how much! I think this information would make us non farmers gasp at the expenditures and the business aspects of farming. Thanks to all,
