One of good things about the Scottish weather is that you don't (normally) have to wait that long for it to change. Couldn't quite make out who the stowaway on the anchor was - guessing a starfish? Got to love the sight of Skylar when she gets her feet on dry land though - tail wagging so hard she was in danger of shaking herself apart 🤣 Did her sea legs improve over the trip?

Thanks Dave 🙂 yeah it was a tiny star fish stowaway on the chain. ⭐ She is pretty good to be fair, just the rougher crossings are a bit much for her (and me! 🤣🤣), and it's not the biggest boat so we do feel it quite a lot.

You guys are just too cute! Good to see Skylar getting Sea Legs. I am a bit jealous of your boy there, but I'm too old for ya. Fair winds and a following sea to ya both

hello, im new to the channel and appreciate this is very old now and the boats gone but i was just interested in where you think the water was getting into the bilge from? ( currently doing up a leisure 23 including re-glassing and was hopeful of getting a fully dry main cabin ). any tip or advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
@joandtim2 ай бұрын
I think it was just condensation collecting. With a fibre glass ceiling (inside) codensation build up is always an issue, particularly during wet periods. The double skin nature of the L23 helps reduce the issue but it never entirely goes away. In hindsight Salty was a very dry boat, certainly better than Hat trick in that regard. The main thing that you can address is deck fittings, if you have particulalry damp areas inside check deck fittings outside and if neccesary reseal, we had a couple of leaky stantion holder but a bit of sealant and retightening improved things a lot.

@@joandtim cheers for the reply :-) and you’re 100% right the stanchions do look weepy. Along with some of the through hole top and bottom skin connection bolts. It’s amazing how quickly water just appears… 😝.

Hi, we're RB as well (Moonshadow of Kip) and noticed your cover has blown off and your saloon hatch had slid open. I've closed your hatch but couldn't work out how you'd rigged your cover! Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Oh gosh! I'll let Tim know, we've had some work done to the rigging so when they took the mast down and did that they may have removed it. Thanks for letting us know!
