"Our Miss Brooks" starring Eve Arden started as a radio program in 1948 and continued to run side by side with the television version through most of its run from 1951-1956. Miss Brooks was an English teacher at Madison High. Also in the cast were Gale Gordon as Osgood Conklin (her principal), Jane Morgan as Mrs. Davis (her landlady), Richard Crenna as Walter Denton (a student), and Robert Rockwell as Philip Boynton (the biology teacher and Miss Brooks' love interest). In 2001 I had the great pleasure to have lunch with Robert Rockwell in Los Angeles. He had great stories about his appearances on "Superman," "The Lone Ranger," and, of course, "Our Miss Brooks."

This is the 1955-'56 opening title (reflecting the final season's storyline when Connie Brooks transferred from Madison High to "Mrs. Nestor's Private School" for children). This edition, however, is actually a 1956 summer repeat of a January 1955 episode, "Buddy" ["Kool-Shake" was primarily sold during the summer, and Jell-O puddings began to be pitched in the summer of '56 as a "Busy-Day dessert"]. Wilbur Hatch conducted the radio show's orchestra long before Desilu produced the TV edition...

One can tell "Our Miss Brooks" was a Desilu production by the music of Wilbur Hatch, who also conducted the music for "I Love Lucy". Thank you for posting this.

AWESOME 50's T.V.Sitcom featuring the one and only, the HOT EVE ARDEN! Wow this lady was really HOT, the only sitcom I remember of Eve's was one where she starred together with Kate Ballard, what was the name, it was situated on two couples who were friends and neighbors. Thanks Jim for posting this COOL upload! :)

Where in the world did you find these old TV 📺 commercials?! I find them incredibly interesting, nothing like the ones of today or even when I was a child.(I'm 43). Not to mention shows like Our Miss Brooks💙.

Johnny was in New York at the time. The opening- and closing- announcer was John "Bud" Hiestand.

Nope, it's a different Al Lewis- writer/producer/director.

That was a different "Al Lewis". He directed both radio and TV versions of "OUR MISS BROOKS", and was its head writer as well. He later produced the early episodes of "THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW".

What an amateurish opening. Good thing this was the final season. That lousy opening theme is sickening. Stick to the great radio version.
