Travel vlog 542 // Tbilisi, Georgia // Country #78 // We planned our own food tour by making a list of 9 traditional Georgian foods to try all in one day. Highlights include teaching our friend Charlie how to eat khinkali & visiting a local market where a Georgian lady took us under her wing and let us try everything at her stall (including homemade Cha Cha). The rest of the day didn’t go as planned, but we tried to make up for it by showing you our traditional Georgian sulfur bath experience ;)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZbin channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Although starting to think he might be a jinx...ya’ll always seem to have awkward experiences together! 🙈 But that’s why I love it! 😂 Please do more together you are all brilliant! 👍🏽

@Queen Georgia is Caucasian and is in the Caucasus Mountains. An ancient nation with its own native language and alphabet. All our native customs in wine making and polyphonic singing developed here throughout millennia. We're as old, if not older than any nation of Asia, and significantly older than Europe. We're doing just fine in the Caucasus as a real Caucasian nation, thanks.

The sauce the lady at the market poured on your hands is called "tkemali" it's made from sour kind of plums.. and it's traditional to Georgian cuisine.. if cooked and spiced right it's very very delicious.. I personally pour my favorite red tyemali on most of my meals lol that's how much I love it 😂 I could even just eat tkemali and bread all day and I'd be happy... Oh and also with the churchkhela.. one that you tasted was probably freshly made cause you said it was sticky... Ideally, it should be dry to touch and not very soft inside either... And lady was trying to tell you that it has wallnuts inside and it's all natural Can't wait till next video!! Oh and almost forgot to mention.. how impressed and proud I am with the way you ate khinkali 😂😂 most of foreigners eat it with fork and ruin whole experience cause the best part - soup- pools on the plate and is wasted

well... i can translate everything she says.. i just don't know how to turn them into subtitles.. never done such thing before.. she's not saying anything special to be honest, cause she knows they won't understand anyway.. and often she's either using russian or messed up english phrases to make them understand... and she doesn't understand a word of what they say... at 5:49 she tells someone that she knows german very well

Wonderful video. I love that you guys immerse yourselves in the culture and do not limit your videos to the touristy areas. Your videos show how people all over are basically good, proud if their culture and want to share their lives with you. My niece from Georgia USA, lived in Tbilisi for five years. She taught English in local schools & community centers while living with a local family the entire time. She fell in love with the people and culture. It was extremely tough for her to leave and she still considers going back. Thanks again and safe travels.

That lady at the Market... how awesome was she? She's like the Georgian version of everyone's Italian/Spanish/Jewish/Russian grandmother. 😂

Hi guys. Just for fun - I not only remember "that" your Moscow's food tour, but as a Russian, I was working on the script of that "vlog with Katherina" 'cuz I study AmEnglish. Heh, it was great to find some parts of it in this your vlog. Honestly speaking, I was thinking then that it would be great if you visit "real" Georgia country and try their dishes there, haha! And, now it is real. Good luck and my best wishes!
