Mulatto is originally a term meaning Black and Spaniard which evolved into meaning Black and any European. Some of my U.S. citizen ancestors were defined this way on their papers.

@Multiracial Movement I don’t think ppl understand the genealogy of horn Africans. They are literally a homogeneous mix between middle eastern asiatic ppl and Africans. Nobody questions why horn Africans look different from Tanzanian ppl and Kenyan ppl, even though all are East Africans? That diversity didn’t come out of nowhere. Horn Africans mixed with each other keeping a specific look. They are technically mixed❤️

I used to think like you and understand your feelings but your argument is flawed. I do still believe that African Americans should support each other and not look at mixing with whites as the answer! We should love our black skin and admire it enough to want to procreate with a person that is our reflection so that we can have pretty babies that look like us. However mixed race people are both black and white (I'm particularly speaking of 'mulattoes.' We are black. We are also white. So mixed race people should procreate with those who look like themselves and their family members. You can't judge a mixed person for dating white or black. The other flaw in your slaw: We are all the same species. White cats don't only breed with other white cats. You see... When comparing different races we all have 94% of the same DNA. We are all the same period. Unfortunately what makes us different is our culture has assigned us a hierarchy based on skin tone. America is very racist and promotes white superiority and black inferiority. Unfortunately this had done damage on the African American psyche. This is why I feel like blacks SHOULD embrace each other instead of trying to go outside. I'm all for black love. This is the only way we will build ourselves up instead of trying to intermingle and blend into whiteness.
