As someone who was 'raised' African American/Afro-American, Black, Negro, etc.: my being Creole was an afterthought. Born in New Orleans, raised in Omaha...I went with the flow as a mixed race person. All my adult paperwork is listed as Black...although everyone with 'a drop of AA blood is Black". lol. I now in later life choose to recognize my truth - My Truth - and no longer deny my authentic heritage.

Mulatto is originally a term meaning Black and Spaniard which evolved into meaning Black and any European. Some of my U.S. citizen ancestors were defined this way on their papers.

This video is misinformative propaganda lies about the authentic history of us authentic LaLwizyàna Kréolités (Black-LaLwizyànans) here in Louisiana. The authentic LaLwizyàna Kréolités here in Louisiana are Foundational Black-Americans and nothing else. So stop lying about the true identity, history and ethnicity of us authentic LaLwizyàna Kréolités (Black-LaLwizyànans) here in Louisiana, USA!!!

Idk if you’re still active on KZbin but as someone who now creates content about our beautiful Creole culture, I truly appreciate the work that you put into spreading our culture. I know you dealt with a ton of BS responses, mostly from one community in particular as I now deal with that same hostility but I’m sure it was even worse for you 10-15 years ago when many of these videos were published. Thanks again for all the work you’ve put into this channel. Hopefully you’ll see my comment & feel my utmost gratitude ⚜️⚜️✊🏼✊🏽

May the Creole vibe live forever. I am not sure why people act like that. I get tired of people thinking I am Black. I didn’t have to take my historical pedigree from my tribe, my citizenship and my ID to show my doctor just how Creole I am. I’m Native American and Caribbean French Creole and that is all I want to be. My one of my daughter is passing for White one don’t. We are, however, proud just like other peoples. I am as proud of my Indian granny as I am of my Caribbean granny and my French granny. My dad is Mulatto. He is Irish, Indian, and Caribbean. I love them all.❤

When the French wanted the French in the Louisiana to procreate with the Indigenous people in the area because the population was so low. That is before or at the beginning of the Slave trade.

There was a concerted effort with the creation of codofil in the 60's to seperate white and black creoles in Louisiana. I war raised in Louisiana and grew up not understanding that creoles were basically people born in Louisiana pre-1803 (colonial times) and their descendents - or if I did know it, the few times I've attempted to refer to myself as such, I've gotten attacked for various reasons. The biggest shock I had was when I learned that pretty much all cajuns are creole but not all creoles are cajun (I'm both). This is a wonderful conversation that we still .... 15 years after it was posted ... is still very important to hear and still very relevant. Thank you.

Well said Brother, I am sorry that you had to experience racism, ignorance and stupidity, I agree with you keeping the Creole Culture alive I see the value and education factor for future generations, I am from South East Louisiana of mixed heritage African, Indian, French; I don’t know of anyone that honestly say they are of one race only, we all are MIXED whether we acknowledge or not, I commend you for standing up and continuing making videos, keep up the good work, Blessings.

Beautiful MULATTOES who kept their identity and didn't bow to lying about themselves to "fit-in." There's a smaller but growing Anglo-Mulatto American population that did the same. Long live the Creoles!

Absolutely ROYAL American history of Mixed-race people. I'm wondering if they STAYED CREOLE, or ran-off and passed for White or Black! I know Beyonce married a Black man, so she let her Creole roots die! What a SHAME! Creoles are very distinctive among Mulattoes and Mixed-race Americans, because of their "French" ancestry, whereas most Mixed-race Americans are an Anglo-mix. These stories should be documented in American history books, because this is NOT "Black" history; it's the history of Mixed-race Americans, respectively. Thanks for sharing What a treat!

Yes. Creoles who are not "white" are Black🤣 Mullattos, Octaroons, Biracials, and Mixed Americans are all just varying degrees of Black people, unless they are white passing. Creoles have a unique culture( just like all the other Black people in America, depending in where they were born)....but they are still Black🤣
