I don't know if anyone has said this in the comments but on the "limited resources" note sis Nozibele I would like to add that not all public clinics/Hospitals prioritise specific cases like rape, therefore as an individual please do not hesitate to go to your nearest clinic and ask for the PEP, if they out of supply request for a referral to a nearby clinic/hospital that has supply you are allowed to do that. I do want to emphasise like sis Nozibele did though, prevention is better than cure everyone please take the PREP especially young people.

I have been tested for HIV a number of times and the counselling has always been sh*t so I would advise people to do the self test 😃. It was both private and public by the way, in South Africa and different provinces (well Western Cape and Gauteng 😅)

You can get rapid HIV tests from a pharmacy for as low as R30. There isn't an excuse to not know your status if you want to test

Having to deal with an overworked clinician and asking for help. The home test may be another alternative. Doing a home test at the comfort of your home.
