The June bearing strawberries are producing, and we need to pick every other day now. These strawberries will produce for a few weeks and then they are done for the year. Also, the Orchard is starting to put on fruit. The fruit is just starting to form in our homestead orchard. We have apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, and cherries, all producing fruit.

Make your own pesticide from rhubarb leaves ! Boil the leaves for about 30 mins then mix the concentrated tea with either soapy liquid or a sugar soap and dilute by 50% then spray the leaves. I know it keeps aphids down doesn’t harm pollinators might work on the ants but it’s worth a try ! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I read that deer like apples so you may have apple eating deer before you get chestnut eating deer. Also tie old cds in your cherry trees will be keep the birds off. We grew Ozark Beauties that lasted until the first frost.

We tried giving the strawberry tops to the pigs and they weren't very interested. So we tried the goats and chickens, the goats didn't want it, but the chickens ate them up.

It looks like you have a standard Peach tree, over pluming it causes little Fruit production. I watch you plum it a few months ago and wanted to say some thing than. BUT,DON'T PLUM IT next spring and you will a lot of fruit. Plum it the next fall a little.

Diatomaceous earth. The micro slivers of the diotoms cut the bugs and they dehydrate. Food grade is ok for gardens. It is ineffective when wet but when it dries out again starts working again. Pretty cheap, Get mine from Amazon. Great alternative to pesticide. U can put it right on the plant or around.

Good ole Comet (?) Nothing beats a Golden ! Great garden and video. Gonna need a bigger freezer ! Bees are a pain to me, but 3-4 hives placed in between all your gardens going on would be a massive benefit. My apple trees did nothing last year, this year looks to be a bumper crop ! Diatomaceous earth should smoke those ants and it's organic.

I think Neem oil is under suspicion as harmful. I would use a light white row cover the beds to keep birds and some bugs out. I use diatomaceous dietMaybe I missed it but which June bearing strawberries did you plant?
@CountryViewAcres
@CountryViewAcres 5 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about diatomaceous earth the other day. I found that it is listed as organic. Sorry, I don't remember what varieties of June bearing I planted.

Thining the fruit by knocking off some of the fruit to leave only one or two fruits per cluster will give you a bigger tastier produce.
