I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Alpine fires another team principle in the middle of the season and plans to announce it is droping its own works status. Carlos has already worked with them and knows what all that truly entails regarding leadership and team management. Sauber/Audi feels compelled to fire its two technical heads and bring in Binotto, pointing to Audi maybe missing development targets. Carlos has worked with Binotto at Ferrari, his dad knows Audi, and fully understands what that would entail for team direction and leadership. He chose Williams within days. Things went crazy now. Carlos to williams might be because carlos knows Newey is going there. Besides, isn't there the rumors about the mercedez engine? He probably thought about all of that. Then, we now have the sauber and alpine seats available. One of those two seats are going to Perez and his 70 million sponsorship, that is a foregone conclusion. That leaves only one more seat available for 2025. If sauber, we have I believe drugovich (with very small chances) bottas himself, and obviously perez. For alpine, we have perez and his 70 million again, doohan (my vote), and mick schumacher. (DOn't think schumacher will come back, though.
@paulallen81094 ай бұрын
Red Bull will "keep" Perez by demoting him to Racing Bulls. I bet it's in his performance-related contract. Red Bull has done so before and can shuffle their drivers around. Think about it, whether or not Racing Bulls perform is of minor importance to the main team so they can afford to have Perez driving there much like they can have Ricciardo there now and Yuki to "make Honda happy" (they have historically always pushed for a Japanese driver). Red Bull might start 2025 with Perez in the first 2-3 races and then have a "change of mind" and have Perez switch with Liam Lawson or Isack Hadjar (Red Bull Academy driver and most likely F2 champion in 2024) or whoever is signed for Racing Bulls for 2025. Back in 2016 Red Bull started their season with RIcciardo/Kvyat. They had Kvyat switch seats with Verstappen after 4 races. In 2019 it was the same story with Gasly being switched with Albon midway through the season. "One of those two seats are going to Perez and his 70 million sponsorship, that is a foregone conclusion." No, Red Bull will keep those millions. Another reason Perez has stayed at Red Bull for so long is that *his name sells a LOT of Red Bull energy drinks in Mexico* . At Racing Bulls Perez can still help the Red Bull drinks company rake in billions from sales in Mexico. Alpine doesn't need to market their cars in Mexico and Sauber is gearing up to become Audi so they neither need the money nor Perez's "input". Red Bull "keeps" Perez for he brings in the company a lot of money in Mexico and that is way more useful to them than the sponsorship deal he comes with. Once Red Bull drops Perez completely I doubt he can find a drive anymore for his stock as a driver has been steadily declining. In my mind he was never more than an average driver. I said so during his Force India days already. He finally lucked into a win (George Russell would have won easily if not for the infamous Mercedes pit tire blunder) after a record-long 190 starts in F1 (placing him dead last on the list of how many races needed before finally winning your first out of all drivers who have won a race in the 75 seasons of F1). He is also an awful qualifier. The stats make that clear as day. And since most F1 races are won from the first row with a handful from the second row it's hardly surprising it took so long for him to finally win. WHY would Sauber want an Aston Martin test driver in their line-up? I saw Drugovich in F2 and he never struck me as a Piastri/Russell/Leclerc kind of driver. He won his F2 title mostly through consistency and a watered-down competition in the likes of Pourchaire, Logan Sargeant and Ayumu Iwasa. If Mick Schumacher wasn't named Schumacher *nobody* would be talking about him. Kudos for him to making it to F1. The sons of Alain Prost. Nigel Mansell, James Hunt, Jody Scheckter, Niki Lauda and Jackie Stewart never made it to F1 at all. Jack Brabham's sons, Nelson Piquet's son and Mario Andretti's son did but they never made much of an impression. Only Graham Hill's and Keke Rosberg's sons were champions themselves. Doohan is worth a shot. The jury is still out on him.

@@Shuubox It can all be explained this way. 1. Red Bull knows they're lost without Max so they want to prevent him from going to another team. 2. Carlos Sainz would be a lot tougher team mate than Checo. Sainz after all beat Norris at McLaren and Leclerc at Ferrari. 3. Max may not have said so himself but the team has assessed him and therefore know they can't afford to make him say:"That's it I'm leaving and signing for Mercedes." so signing Carlos might bring the entire house down. Michael Schumacher actually enjoyed this privilege too at Ferrari in who he wanted as his team mate. Ferrari actually approached Mika Hakkinen for a drive in 2000 but Schumacher implied:"If he comes to Ferrari I will leave." So they signed Barrichello instead - a driver who hadn't even won a single race yet when he came to Ferrari in 2000. Likewise I have a hunch Max implied:"You sign Sainz and I will leave." What Red Bull have however done is paint themselves into a corner. "He would've been PERFECT for Red Bull..." Perfect for Red Bull indeed but not perfect for Max...

Bottas and Massa was a pretty solid line-up in 2014. At Red Bull Ring, Austria the two of them even qualified on the front-row outqualifying the mighty Mercedes driven by Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. They also led the race for the first 15 laps. Here's what. Massa won 11 races and missed the 2008 title by a whisker. Bottas went on to win 10 races (placing him in an elite list of only 35 drivers to have won 10 or more races) and 20 poles (he almost put a Williams on pole) which is quite respectable. I'd rank them higher than Heidfeld (never won) and Webber (could beat Vettel on a good day). Sainz is an underrated driver who most seem to forget beat Norris at McLaren and Leclerc at Ferrari. He also beat Verstappen in a few races at Toro Rosso in 2015. Albon has the spirit and it's a shame he has been unable to show his potential by driving mostly hopeless Williams cars.

The 2nd and 3rd titles are mere bonuses to a proven champion." Sainz is a proven race winner and I have no doubt he has it in him to win several more races. But does he want to become champion one day? If so he took a gamble. Maybe a shrewd one, we shall see.
@11bornrich4 ай бұрын
@@paulallen8109 I think the difference is in the stages of their career. Yeah Lewis already won but he was only getting started and hungry for more titles, the expectations were very high, Mike was in a similar predicament. Sainz seems to be in the 3rd quarter of his career at the very least and looks like we've just about seen the full potential of Sainz, I don't think anyone expects to see anything wildly different beyond what we've seen already we've kind of gotten a good idea about the caliber of driver that he is, ask Sainz, he will probably tell you he still wants that championship, is it realistic? Idk. Imo, you'd have to get him a car that's head and shoulders above the rest for that to be on the table. If it's closely matched with the best, it isn't happening, there are better drivers that will be quicker and more consistent over the course of a season.

Williams still has a money problem, just a different one. Because of the cost cap, they can't spend money modernizing their machinery, infrastructure, and systems at the pace they would like. That puts them at a disadvantage compared to teams that already did that big spending modernizing their operations before the cost cap.

Looking back in history, Jones, Rosberg, Mansell, Hill, Piquet, Prost, and Villeneuve all became F1 champions with Williams. While Williams is far from even dreaming of anything like that these days, I hope they can improve in '25 to become a mid-field team. Mr. Smooth Operator would certainly deserve it.

This was the best case scenario for Carlos he isn’t going to Merc or Red Bull. He has a clause in his contract just in case they offer him a seat. Also people claiming this is bad for him because they aren’t a works team guess what Red Bull was a customer team for the longest time and everyone wanted to be on Red Bulls roster. Williams has pedigree even if you have no clue about that because your just DTS fan.
@Jayxclusive444 ай бұрын
Honestly a smart move from carlos, williams will only improve on this year’s car for 2025 and should be better or equally as competitive as alpine without all the drama…and in 2026 they’ll have the mercedes engine and I’m sure they’ll be a clause for 2026 incase max decides to move to merc for that year so he can be able to replace him at redbull, or move to audi in 2027 if they’re project is picking up steam and williams are stagnant.

I think the odds of Carlos going to Red Bull are pretty high, even if Max doesn't leave. I'm pretty sure Checo will be replaced by Daniel Ricciardo this summer, and Daniel will probably retire at the end of the year. After that, Carlos can join Red Bull.
