The Our tune is one of the only radio programs that brought most offices and work places to a standstill. It was so sad, but also so meaningful with the stories of those that were involved. The Our tune is legendary, and was such a big part of growing up in the 80's and 90's. 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏

As anyone around at the time will tell you. building sites across the nation came to a standstill when this came on...alls you could hear was this drifting across the site.

I worked for a potato processing plant back just over 30yrs ago, this was listened to by all very attentively, the stories about stranger's lives.....the decisions made.....the outcome...the tune brings back all sorts of feelings and emotions, superb!!

I worked in an electronics factory I was about 17. I can confirm everyone shut up and machines went quiet whilst this was on. I often wonder now I'm middle aged, what happened to all these people.

I worked on building sites in the 1980’s and it’s very true, we always stopped and made time for our tune!

I actually gravitate more to the older ‘Our Tune’ in the 80s/90s than the more recent ones on Smooth, although I do listen to them also. The older, slightly tinny sound, just feels like a time capsule in my life to when I was 14 when I became aware of this right after Simon Mayo’s show on Radio 1.

This is actually quite a mild one. Most of the time you'd a couple of cancer stories in there too.

Bring our tune back to radio 2 but there’s no good enough candidate dj to do it…. Steve wright bless him would have been perfect!
