Hey, I just found you and so happy that I did. I follow many home gardeners because I have received blessings of healing and regained health, after living too many years disabled and miserable. Now I'm able to finally turn my old acre into a garden that provides for me while feeding people free in my community. They'll know when I hang a shingle at my driveway that reads 'Pick your dinner'. I can't wait to see how your red clover grows! I'm in southern Alabama and was seeking different varieties of ground cover and I love the red clover for my orchard, for the health benefits but also as a pollen generator to bring in more bees and butterflies for my fruit trees. Also, while watching some of your other videos, I noticed you were buying a lot of soil. That isn't a problem and it's definitely easy but I noticed all around you is all of the prefect materials to create the best compost and mulch. While there are a whole lot of videos about that, my favorite is 'Anne of all trades, the lazy gardener'. Her process of combining nature's greens and browns to make the most healthy compost soil, it's really easy and awesome. Others are doing the same with simple grass clippings, dried and green. That was just a tip-share😊. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I hope to start filling my Re-Purps channel with videos of my garden advancements, and failures just the same 😉, very soon. Otherwise I can be found in fb /justjenn63 if you are interested in hearing about my blessings of healing and health. God bless.

I use field peas and oats. The peas fix nitrogen in the soil, the oats hold the nitrogen, the peas climb and the oat stalks act as a trellis. The combo provides a good "thick" weed suppressing cover crop. This combo is turned into the soil (if you turn soil), or used as mulch. I use Botanical Interest brand, but, if anyone knows of a better brand please let me know! Thanks for such an informative cover crop post, and those glasses❤.

Since you asked, I would be very interested in a step-by-step on how to harvest and store herbs using a dehydrator and jars and even the freezer. Canning and preserving could be another topic. Then explaining what the herbs are used for, how long they last, tea blends, oil blends, aromatherapry, blends for different ailments or health benefits, etc... Also, it is very interesting to see how you use your harvest in the kitchen. Eating clean, with REAL food, is a new interest of mine which develooped after I started gardening. And altough gardening is a wonderful hobby, it can be challenging for new gardeners to use the things we grow. Thanks for sharing with us and asking our opinions.

I use dried cranberry beans from the grocery as a cover crop. Also I plant radishes. Neither is time sensitive for reseeding themselves and causing a weed problem the next season. I grow 90% in containers and use cardboard and wood chips in the containers and soil on top. Then sandwich on the very top what has broken down from the year before from the paths. I add amendments like chicken manure at time of planting. It is working wonderfully. Love your videos. Hope you all are safe

Very educational video, thanks for sharing information concerning red clovers and the inexpensive attractive raised beds too! I’m in zone 7B, Long Island, NY. Already planted collards, broccoli, bush peas , bush beans, honey nut baby squash, lettuce, basil, cilantro, chocolate peppermint, carrots & more zinnia flowers from seed, bok Choy, snow peas. It’s my 2nd year gardening and my first year gardening in the Fall! I am so excited! The weather has been beautiful the whole month of September in the high 70’s & low 80’s. It’s cooler in the evenings and pest pressure has decreased. Still keeping an eye out for aphids , cabbage moths ect. I covered my plants after listening to other seasoned gardeners on KZbin (also did research on pests that destroys the plants I grew ) to gain more successful harvests. We finally had rain yesterday, I’m so happy since we didn’t have any for two weeks. I love your videos , because they are very insightful and thoughtful. Would love to see different recipes you make for your family with your harvests, different methods demonstrated for preservation (ex: canning, where they are stored, freezing, if you use a deep freezer or your fridge freezer ect). Pointers and practical advice for folks who have smaller spaces (apartments , terrace , small yards ect) to store dried herbs ect Love the videos when your children are learning from you about gardening too and planting/harvesting. Things you are doing in your marvelous green house/shed. When I watch your videos it feels like I’m hanging out with my younger sister. If you have animals, show a day when you /family are feeding and cleaning their pen/shed ect Fall is here, great time for homemade soups and casseroles. Just a few ideas thrown out there in love ❤. Keep up your great inspirational videos! 😃👍🏽🙌🏾❤️

I'd love to continue seeing how your garden grows during the fall/!winter season, what steps you take to protect your plants during that time, I know collards grow even through snow and frost so you can show that, maybe if you're making garden stuff for the spring to keep bugs and other critters out, if you make plans on paper as to what goes where and your mindset on that. I know I will spend some of my winter on spring planning, garden decor, wind chimes, garden journal like what grew what failed. My daughter told me to take pics so I remember what things looked like and where it was so I can rotate things and not keep planting the same things in the same spots which also causes problems in the soil. You can show your research on things like that. Research seeds, seed companies, share your thoughts on that. Just throwing a few things at you. Thank you for sharing your journeys. I'm trying your carrot ideas now. Fingers crossed.
