As Lincoln was raking the straw/hey in the stall I had this sudden straw smell take a hold of me. Use to love the smell of fresh straw. Not big fan of dark color walls, but since it is a large bathroom it might be O.K. Looking forward to seeing the end result. You guys are doing great.

Your LongEars are sooo sweet and I'm in love with them!! FYI, donkeys don't get an under fur and the air in the fur acts as their insulation. If you brush them in winter, you remove the air that insulates them. Love the idea about the gravel layed over membrane and need to attack that project myself!! The bathroom is looking fantastic!! Considering the amount of woodwork and windows in the bathroom it can handle that dark wall color. Try rolling the paint on in overlapping Xs or Ms and you will get better coverage. Pet donkeys are seriously appealing.

I enjoyed seen the donkeys tonight they are like a tonic to me. I go for my first radiation tomorrow and Donkeys have a calming effect on me. I have never seen a salt block before maybe that is why they are so healty looking.

I have several of those specialised tools like Lincoln’s. They seem to be breeding. I adapt them from the original (coat hanger), forget I have several, but , strangely, always put them in the same place after I have finished with them. ie. against the wall in the broom cupboard. When I go to store them I think I must remember not to destroy anymore coat hangers as I have already created those tools. But, of course, time goes by and I forget. I predict that in millennia to come archaeologists will find them all over the world and speculate that they were tools for hunter gatherers to hook ants out of anthills, honeycomb out of beehives, or some such.

When we were children in our town there was a donkey who lived near us we always visited with them. We donate to a donkey rescue every year for our birthdays. That looks like an air deco cast iron chandelier. I've restored about 20 of them for an old house I had in NC. I think they're awesome with crystal type globe shaped bulbs. You don't need shades with them and they put off a lot of light.

About the Christmas star--and your wonder wreath thingie. Check Anna's method which is the same as yours but with maybe a better base. The way she wires her garden findings (like you used) will help you next year. Easy peasy ! Oh Oh, Easter baskets. We couldn't find real ones (30 years ago in the middle of nowhere, la France plusque profonde, but you could weave them. Right ? Maybe the internet would be a wee bit easier. And better looking.

Just an idea; if the chandelier looks a bit too small, you could add some glass globe shades to each light fitting, or maybe add those flame or plume shaped shades? It would make it look bigger.

There’s a vertical brush thing, don’t know what it’s called, very long (?4ft) that can be mounted on a post. It’s something cows apparently like to rub up against. Might come in a donkey size. Bet they’d love it!

The bathroom is turning out very nice, I know you both will be happy to have another room completed on your to do list. I think I like the green with the white trim, mainly because you have lots of light coming into the room. I think I would put heavy lace curtains on the window so the light can still come in bright. Hi Amanda and Lincoln, I think the bathroom chandelier, is a little small as well. I love the green, you can't go wrong with any shade of green. I can't wait to see the bathroom finished. The donkey's what can you say about them. I had horses growing up and they called eating the wood cribbing, the horses would do that out of boredom, I am not sure if it's the same for Donkey's. When the donkeys eat the siding there could be 3 reasons. Something is missing from their diets, after the salt licks are done they are looking for more and because the salt had dripped down the siding they are eating it off or they are just bored.
