Hey Everyone!
A What we eat in a week, everyones fave! These are a lot of work to put together lol, so I generally only do once per grocery cycle, and try and pick the best time to share, which for this one was post the food hamper / pantry collection, using up that newer fresh stuff in with whatever we had left as well!

I never blanch food before freezing. Hate the texture and flavor. I did an experiment (for me) last year. I had purchased 6 dozen ears of butter sugar corn (had to purchase this amount in order for the sale price) last year at the end of the season for $16. Now there's only 2 of us but I had shucked it, removed the kernels from the corn, laid it out in a sheet pan and flash froze them for 2 hours in the freezer before bagging it up. It was like I had just cooked up fresh corn on the cob....delicious!

The geese are a bit rough on them :s. We’ve had growth but nowhere near what I would have hoped, part of the winter plans is to clean up the gardens but also put cages around the trees when we fertilise and mulch them at the end of the season.. fx one day we get some actual produce from them!

I use mashed potatoes into potato cakes. Just add an egg, a chopped onion , and enough flour to make it thick enough to drop into skillet with butter . Brown, turn and mash with spatula as thin as you like. They are so easy to make and delicious.

i love love love all your food videos partially because they have nothing to do with crochet or knitting (i'm in market prep heck right now) but mainly because your voice is calming and the food is real and meant to be eaten not photographed. so because people only show the best on social media .i look at the end dish and wonder of anyone in their house actually got to eat it? I also wonder if gordan ramesy kids ever look at his food and then ask for a peanut butter and jam sandwich. i look at the food you make and think yep the kids will eat that bet she doesn't get as many leftovers as she would like.

Nyssa the guinea fowl are hilarious companions. That aside the flowers behind you are just lovely. I so appreciate each and everyone of your video's. You are so creative in your meal planning is amazing. And everything is delicious, and looks so tasty. I had never heard of an egg on a pizza 🍕 😕, but I will now have to give it a try. I too skip the blanching step for a better flavor/texture to our vegetables. I laughed at the coconut milk rice being a great method to make the curry milder for the children. I made a green curry, using a different brand ,so I wasn't familiar with how spicy it was, and silly me, I used the entire can. Oh my goodness it was hot. So I began adding more ingredients to cut the heat. I finally made Jasmine rice with chicken stock to serve it over, and that was perfect.

These are my favourite videos! Love seeing what you come up with for meals! Have you tried icing sugar sprinkled over popcorn? Its very addictive! How do your guinea fowl get along with each other? I have one group who pick on another group. So far they have killed one, a lavender one. The bullied ones now sleep with the geese or ducks! Safe travelling! Btw my sour dough starter never started! Im going to try again!
@OurSmallFootprint
@OurSmallFootprint 16 күн бұрын
I don't know that I have had icing sugar over popcorn! we might have to try that as a treat! We have one lavender and the rest are your standard colour in different variations, Penguin, as we call the lavender definitely gets some rough treatment, but has never been severely bullied, just notice sometimes that they are a little separate, they get along pretty well with the geese too, and we have a few chooks that free range because they just will not stay in the pens and the guinea fowl seem to spend time with them as well, its fun to watch sometimes! I cannot get my starter consistent atm, I'm relying heavily on instant yeast lol.

There was potato and beans with that pulled pork dinner, they are veg .haha I know what you mean though, I love a good variety of veg at each meal. I am sooooo glad I don’t have to make food everyday for my family anymore. I just don’t have the energy! It can’t be cheaper, and you aren’t vegetarians. Seems like real cheese would be better.
