Hey Everyone!
I used up some jars of my pumpkin soup from the shelf for Mac and Cheese, and I showed how we prepare and serve the butter chicken I canned the other day! Pulled BBQ pork and Udon Noodle soup, Ravioli in there as well :D

Nessa, you just keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about none of them other people. I'm a big fan from Mississippi ❤❤❤

There's definitely a form of choice in living style, and I think sometimes, the fact that a person wouldn't choose our lifestyle feels like it gives them a right to make negative comments about it, but just because they wouldn't choose it doesn't mean its a bad choice :D

People who criticize you needs to remember that you had to move to your property before it was ready, so you are having to finish the property while living there. Which means it takes a lot longer to get everything done. I think you are doing a great job. I love watching your channel.

Hi from Idaho, USA. I dont think you should feel pressured to do a live. If you want to do one, maybe do it while you're at your moms might be an option. I dont feel like you need to do one if you're not comfortable. Also, i love your videos. Ignore the comments that are rude your child live a wonderful childhood with lots of play and eating like royalty. You're one of my favorite channels!

Having lived in Lightning Ridge for 45 years, your living environment is superior to some people there. We call homes out on the mining fields camps, some are well built, like houses in town, others live very roughly, all off grid, no water, they have generators, or solar, and tanks that are filled by a tanker truck, at a cost, or they fill themselves from the Council hose point in town. It is a way of life, acceptable and affordable. Some choose to live this way of life, others choose due to finances, they are a huge part of our towns character, without these people our town would be a fading part of history. Not every one chooses to live in cities, definately a lifestyle choice, be very proud of what you are achieving, your family is awesome.

There is definitely that choice factor, we choose to have certain aspects 'rough' because they benefit us financially and allow us to have other aspects a little more luxury (Like my outdoor kitchen with a leaking roof but my $2,000 Thermomix, that I earned rather than paid for, but still!). There are lots of people who couldn't imagine living the way we do, but I actually enjoy our lifestyle :D

the thing i love about your homesteading videos is that you don't have a large budget and a large amount of people helping you do everything. because as someone who lives on 7 wooded acres in a 900 sq ft house it is a relief to see someone else living small because they don't have any other choice. it's one thing for people to live small when they know they call a contractor and have more space built it's another to live that way when you know when it rains for 4 weeks straight you only have a small space for you all to be in to stay safe and dry. so don't worry about being internet perfect those who matter don't care if you are and those that care about that don't matter.

Those people who criticize likely believe that other homestead channels, with everything perfect, are doing it all themselves and that they don’t have babysitters, yard help, homeschool help. They also have unlimited power and water and many other conveniences including garbage/recycling collection. One of the many reasons I enjoy this channel is that it isn’t perfect. I like hearing the kids being loud in the background because it is their home and they should be able to. I like the noisy animal Interruptions too! Is a homestead even a homestead if it doesn’t have a collection of wood, roofing, buckets and other things that are for a future project? We have plenty of all those things and however they are stored they still look messy. I hope you don’t let those comments get to you because you have a community here from around the world who appreciate all the hard work you (and your family) do to make your off grid lifestyle run smoothly. It will always be a work in progress but you have achieved so much in 6 years 🏆

So much to say! First ignore rude people. I like that you are you. Not an Instagram account with a bunch of fake life posts or a bunch of look what I own. That's what keeps me coming back. Also anyone who has ever been on a property knows it's a very different life to suburbia. Heck I live in suburbia and we have gardening and car stuff around the yard. And you're renovating! Mess happens when renovating! Dont apologise for having kids and priorities that are far more important. I love that you're honest about income. With the way things are right now so many are struggling and being able to see what can be achieved is awesome. Not everyone is rolling in money although social media would have you believing that's how it is. Deboned chicken. I can't eat onion and garlic but my Coles sells one that is reasonable and exact the same but you can do the flavours. It's called the bare bird. I'm with you. I love them! Butter chicken is yummy! I admit I do rice AND Naan. Every time. Often the rice is mixed with sauce and then put on the naan. Carb heaven.

Brilliant as usual. Don’t feel pressure to do a live. It’s your channel so you can do as you please with it! One question I have is this- how do you know what to mix with what in your recipes? I tend to stick to the same recipes I know because I’m worried that I won’t like them with ‘random’ stuff added. I’m always worried I’ll waste the food if I don’t like it 🙈

Nyssa you keep being real. Us Ozzys are tough and could not careless about fancy . We make do and do things in our own time. Your children will be well adjusted and not pretentious like a lot. They are true Australian children. We live of the land , the children go bare foot and get dirty. Our homes are not perfect and some of us live in incomplete homes and would have it no other way. I grew up in the bush, ran though the bush, slept in the bush and played in the bush. Our home had bugs, flies and snakes. My Aunties house and our house had a hole in the floor in the hall way and none of us got hurt. I thank my Parents every single day for giving us the upbringing we had. So what I am saying is those people commenting rudely and judgementally are the ones missing out on an amazing upbringing. Ron and I lived in a fancy house most of our married like with lots of money. We now live on a pension in an old cabin with no money and minimalistic and we are the happiest we have ever been. You hold your head high and know your children are going to thank be you.

We too live in a property that needs a lot of work due to circumstances that my fiancè and I couldn't control, and are slowly financing that without taking out huge loans. I also have a physical disability, and my partner went through stage 4 cancer. However between us and our 4 kids, we are getting there slowly. BUT, we appreciate what we have, a roof and food, and live simply and are more comfortable and happier than ever. You have helped me realise that, and that's why I love your channel. I was so grateful Monday that I had on Sunday made a huge pot of vegetable soup. Having only to warm it up when I spent Monday with my head in the toilet bowl and if not there in a darkened room, was a blessing. Then I only made scrabbled eggs for dinner. Feeling better today but have that spacey feeling a migraine leaves you with. I buy that beef ravioli if I see it on special. It Is a hit here too. It is great to have some quick meal options on hand. Stuff takes time, always longer than you think. You have done heaps in your time there. I would love to see how others would manage with 6 children and limitations of what can be spent at any given time. Do they forget that you home school as well. Anyway, you are both doing the best you can and Rome wasn’t built in a day. Good on you. Don’t worry about lives. This format is fine.

I love having some pre made food to access, big pots of soup and stuff are such a blessing. The after effects of migraines at times are even worse than the actual migraines themselves :S It was half price last month! But it turns out that aldi's brand is basically the same price as the branded stuff half price, which is kinda neat.

I understand your hesitation about doing a live. I think it has more to do with your being introverted than your home life! Keep in mind though that your fans are supportive, and you could just gird your loins LOL and jump in, the same way you did with vlogging. After you have done one, it won't be so scary anymore. You could try doing one just for your Patreon subscribers first to try with a smaller audience. But your Q&A video idea is a great. You could also put links in the description to other videos where you discuss topics that are being asked about again (for example I remember you talking about your kids' names so you could just link to that video rather than giving the whole explanation again). However you decide to do things, we support you!

I love how realistic your house is. Its not perfect (neither is mine). Its not tidy and neat, and you don't look like you've tidied because someone is coming. You've not kicked the kids out so you can film. I have not found anyone else more realistic on here

If you had the choice, would you live off grid or in a city? How far away is it from a city where the kids could find employment when they reach the age to work? I should of said, after 6 years of being off grid and knowing some limitations, would you still choose it over a city home.

I think people just need to whinge about something. Most rural properties have crap everywhere. It's called repurposing and recycling.

I can understand you not wanting to do a live due to how people judge your lifestyle. Even if it is none of anyone's business it still causes anxiety and dealing with people's opinions. My question is. I am a slave to conditioned air, how do you keep cool during summer.
