I’m sure that - like most mums - your birthday turned out to be much the same as any other day in your life! But we're just not big snackers lol, 2 meals a day with coffee and tea in there and not much else! They apparently freeze quite well! But I'd imagine that a microwave makes it easy to defrost/heat without losing moisture.

I love Temu. I have purchased all my home organization, stationary supplies, kitchen needs, and gifts from Temu. The products are very good quality and the prices are so cheap. I mean silicone muffin cups for 28 cents for a set of 24. Customer service is fantastic-have an item that comes damage, you get a credit and the shipping is free. And no I am not an influencer or work for them, just love the quality of the items (my disabled daughter loves all things kawaii and Sanrio). Love the new format of doing your after shop videos. Though your cooking makes me sooooo hungry. Cannot wait for the next video.

Oh, I'm glad for some real reviews, there's plenty of videos online but they'll be being reimbursed like I am and I'm not going to lie lol, but I'm sure some people do! I was glad I could pick what I wanted though, I got a variety of diff size spatulas for example so I could figure out what works best etc! :D

@@OurSmallFootprint I just received another shipment today. It was late by 1 day and they still gave me a 5 dollar credit. One thing that my daughter is loving is the reusable (bamboo fabric) menstrual pads. She is on the autism spectrum and has always had difficulty knowing when she is going to have it or if she needs to pee. They work great for incontinence as well and I like knowing it is not going into a landfill. Also she is sensitive to products in the store and has no issues with these plus they are comfortable. Just a thought since you have girls.

If you use ground pork a lot and mange to get some lettuce as well I would highly recommend you try the dish yuck sung a Chinese dish that uses ground pork veggies and water chestnuts for crunch and mirin and kaykap manis (abc In Australia) sautéed together then served in lettuce boats it’s soo nice xx

Thanks for more inspiration. I had to process 7.5kg of mince (ground beef) over the last couple of days so I ended up with about 16 cups (8 meals) of spaghetti sauce/chili, 10 big burgers, 70 small meatballs and about 30 big meatballs. Next time i will have to buy more when it's on sale because I would have liked to do some salisbury steaks and casseroles as well, and maybe canned some! It was at $3.39/lb CAD = $0.747/100g which is the lowest it's been since about Aug 2021.

I like The Canning Diva's book for meals in a jar, and there is a lot on youtube if you know the type of thing you are looking for and can search it!

Hi Deb! It really depends on what you like to eat! You can season your meats just the same as if you were going to cook them, though I do like having that blank slate on the shelf! We do a butter chicken in a jar which we love (I use the SkinnyMixers recipe as a starting point). We do a lot of soups because they can be used as soup, or drained and turn the stock into white sauce and you have chicken pot pie filling! Some people make a fajita style chicken in a jar, but we're not super keen on capsicums here, so that's not something that appeals to me. We've made stroganoff before, which wasn't bad, both with chicken and beef! we love the zuppa toscana soup base using the ground pork as well, that has lots of lovely flavour.

I've looked at sun ovens, they're very cool, but also quite expensive! from what I've seen too, they require a little bit of chasing the sun, if you lose direct sun the temp drops rapidly and we have a lot of trees, so our sun moves quite a lot.

your foccacia look incredibly. I cannot get my sour dough foccacia to have some many bubbles- it is a bit dense. Could be Melbourne winter temps though....

I think with focaccia, it is all about taking it further than you think you should, because you don't have to shape it, you can almost overproof it in the baking vessel, and with cooler weather, it takes so much longer, I think you get to a point in cooler weather where it has been so long you second guess yourself and decide, maybe I should just cook it!

Hey Nysa, I would love to know who you do your transcription work through. I used to do a fair bit through a company who suddenly disappeared but I'm very keen to get back into it but finding a reliable company to join seems to be a bit of a challenge right now.

I'm really lucky, I found a company that has a few financial advisers and I do solely their work now, I did bits and pieces for a few of the contracting companies, but was able to score the contract with this one office who provides me with enough work to keep me going - I do a bit more than just transcription, I upload to their online servers etc as well - so I don't have to find more clients etc! I do know a couple of people who work with 'digital transcripts' though and find them good to work for.

I think its just the royal we :D. I think in my mind, everything I do is for all of us, so even though I might have done the work, it is for us overall, no idea tbh! :D. Cashew cheese can definitely have a lot of the flavours of cheese, it comes pretty darn close, but! it never comes close to the mouthfeel, that's whats missing, it doesn't stretch and it doesn't have that stick to the roof of your mouth texture. You can make dairy free stretchy cheese, but most of them require starches and cooking etc, and they're pretty low on nutrition, so I prefer to add the cashew cheese because at least theres some nutrition to it if that makes sense! I have done very very little with TVP, it kinda turns me off as well. We get some in the hampers sometimes and I really should use it, because I'm sure the kids would try it! But I just go for the meat first lol.

@@OurSmallFootprint I don't like cashews just to eat, but I do love Korma so cashew cheese is the experiment this month lol That said, I honestly would love a rooster who follows me everywhere and talks at me. 😂 The neighbors got one and although I can't hear him evidently he's waking up the entire suburban neighborhood. As a country girl I love city people learning lol it builds character 🐓

This one was named, Shadow, but he's actually one who will be culled if we can get the process down pat, he's quite aggressive, not one that would be good to keep, but easily identifiable, so the kids have a tendency to name ones that are easily recognisable!

@@OurSmallFootprint So this is what I do - not telling you what to do but i get stuck with editing too and this has saved me (gotta love ADHD lol) so I just record record record like you and then as i have an iphone i use an ap 'imovie' - its free' and you can do a 'voice over' so I will put all the footage in there and then hit 'voiceover' and just talk as the video is going so I'm watching it and just talking into my phone - i then got to I stop writing so many notes trying to remember what to say - I slow down some clips too so I can get all my thoughts across.

@@FrugalFunMum I have tried voiceovering while watching, it really doesn't work for me, it ends up very stilted and doesn't flow lol :D I'm better using my camera as an audience! :D
