This is the movie which proved to everyone that Deepika can ACT act. Even she says that Cocktail the most important film of her filmography. The relationship is kind of a spoiler but they're all friends but not quite, thats all you get to know. Its a great movie, do watch it.

Many clarifications are in order here: 1. Saif Ali Khan began his career as a rather flaky and goofy romantic lead/2nd lead as do most star-kids, being the son of Sharmila Tagore (who was a major star in the 60s & 70s) and Mansur Ali Pataudi (the Nawab of Pataudi, also India's cricket captain) 2. His first breakthrough role as a serious actor was in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of Othello entitled Omkara where he played the villain Iago's role of Langda Tyagi. He's played many villainous roles convincingly since then. The OTT series came much later. 3. Cocktail is a watchable (not must-watch) flick about a love triangle. Deepika gets the best role in terms of character arc and acting range. 4. The song 'Desi (indian/local) daaru' (alcoholic beverage) plays when Saif and Deepika are in a casual live-in relationship and the other girl Diana is Deepika's friend (Rick is right!) and flatmate who's just come down from India. 5. Fashion stars Priyanka (not Deepika) and Kangna Ranaut (Korbin's right!)

Sartaj & Deepika have another movie in common, Love Aaj Kal, that was their first film together. It was remade with Sartaj's daughter, Sara Ali Khan, but it didn't do as well; the original is the best. The late Rishi Kapoor is also in the first part.
