i totally agree, these vids are a nice change of pace. (i would also love to have links so i can do my own background research, Doug has always either: teach me something new, or show me places to learn on my own. the latter i really like) also props to Doug for daily Edutainment style stuff, longer form stuff is my go to. i love relatively left alone vids to listen to but these ones are a really good step in the oppisite way.

I like the long form, but I recommend for long form to cut down on the arm movements slightly because it becomes slightly distracting in the different aspect ratio if it is too prevalent. Edit: The single arm movements seem to be the perfect balance of attention grabbing, yet not distracting from really watching the video more.

There's no reason for humans to have not been as ingenious in the past as we are today. Human nature hasn't changed throughout time. All that's changed is technology, as that builds on what's come before, as our knowledge increases. As far as humans are concerned, though, they had the same impulses, needs, and desires 2000, or 10,000, or 30,000 years ago (and more) as we do today.

The clock in Honduras isn't an out-of-place artifact. While there is some debate on exactly how old it is, we know its provenance and how it got to its present location. Out-of-place artifacts challenge conventional historical chronology, or they are too advanced for the technology known to have existed at the time. There are many other examples you could have used, like the Baghdad battery, the London hammer or the wedge of Aiud. That being said, I like what you're doing. The long form video is great 👍🏼
