This kind of video is what I call "The Relic". Understanders will understand.

@jasper426 It was not. Two reasons: 1) Michael Played a purple ESP M II, which he used since 2000... I have seen 2 live performances from 1998 and he still used his white one... 2) Not sure if this was a VHS Tape or DVD, but I strongly believe this was actually still a VHS tape, therefore the quality is what it is. Plus on the cover of the guitar chapter tape ( only picture I could find blog.live4guitar.com/article/interview-with-michael-romeo-symphony-x ) is a date 2000.7.26, so I would strongly believe this is the date of manufacture or production at least... :) cheers, have a nice day :)

Michael Romeo absolutely blows the lid off of any modern "virtuosos". Effortless, without any goofy schizophrenic crap.

Simply amazing how he can play all of that slowly.
@masii2226 күн бұрын
It may look slow... But once you try playing it, even "slow" is not so slow as you may think 😂 Romeo things

Same, except now I thought maybe I could play it. Except slow mode needs to be slower....

The intro has pure classical vibe. Because it is classic. Perfection.

Some twats on forums say he's sloppy. This guy was and is so underrated.
@mindstorms444 жыл бұрын
@@jrocker027 I find that a bit strong "sloppy " I'm pretty sure he was classically trained for a while and I think that's the first thing that's taught posture.....and as for his playing..... well that's not what ide call sloppy.....ide question these peoples credentials I really would......also there is a direct connection between ability and positive feedback and humility (in my humble opinion lol) this type of playing isn't for everyone......I keep trying to get friends to like his band and other similar types but people like what people like....but at the end of the day this guy has left his mark on the world of music and just seeing this and other examples of his technique and composition made me finally really turn it up a notch and I for one am truly grateful to him.

Whammy bar harmonics; you pluck the string either with your finger or pick, dip with the tremolo and then, while letting the pitch raise, you touch the string somewhere where you can get a natural harmonic. In this case, Romeo did it at about 3rd fret.
