With the first four episodes of the series posted and the expansion draft complete, I try to answer many of the questions from the comment sections about my Game Settings, Ownership, Minor League Systems, Stadiums, etc. Not really any OOTP action here, just trying to clarify what we've done to set up this playthrough and why we've done it. I remember when he was with the Cardinals and i went to spring training and he sucked so bad giving up tons of errors. I remember looking at my dad who had been hyping him up since that morning with the biggest look of disappointment.

I wonder how the 'Disable Playoffs' tick box works. I've always wanted to try a league without playoffs where records is all that matters, but I don't know what that does.

I have a question, the market size "small" can it change during simulation or it stays the same even if you simulate for 50 years? Thank you.

I believe it can change, but I think it generally takes decades of play for that to happen.

Interesting dichotomy in the GM philisophy between you and Nash. Your statement about if you can win 80 games first year but can not make the playoffs who cares is interesting. As a GM in this game it is a good choice. As a new fan of a team that starts up in my city I don't want to watch them "try not to lose 100 games" with a bunch of AAA ball players sprinkled with some good up and coming kids. I would want to see them win 80 but with the caveat they DO build up the minors so they are not below average forever. I know that isn't something easy to do but hey they pay the GMs big bucks to do great things :) I am going to be really curious the deltas between the fan loyalty between the Wings and Nash this season from start to end of the year. And for the record, if I was doing an expansion team I would do something very similar to what you did so this isn't meant as a criticism.

Interesting thoughts... I definitely don't want to lose a lot of fan interest this year, and probably will look to add a veteran or two to one year deals, perhaps even after spring training has started. But the goal is definitely to be competitive in a few seasons... not that I necessarily will say that publicly to the fans!

It's properly fucked up that more valuable outcomes are more common in MLB. There are many, many more HRs than triples and nearly as many HRS as doubles. It's very odd, but no-one talks about it.

How did you prevent Nashville from signing Major Leaguers during Free Agency with the budget that they did have? Did i miss a setting somewhere? Granted i'm using an older version of OOTP so maybe the AI is different, but when i tried to set up an Expansion team the non-user Expansion Team kept signing some pretty high end Free Agents and then just sat them idle for the full year(s) on their Major League roster while not playing any games.

I didn't do anything special to prevent that from happening. Either I just got lucky or maybe the AI has improved...

@@oldschoolsports I came here with this same question because I just tried this expansion method today and failed due to the other expansion team making all kinds of major league moves despite not playing in the major league season, thus kind of ruining the league.

There's a "Prevent AI from making roster changes" button that you can select for a specific team but then I imagine they won't fill their minors either, which is the entire point of this exercise. I thought Commissioner Mode might let you GM two teams but I'm not sure about that. I'll keep playing around and see if I find anything useful

You know what? Upon checking again, it looks like the Prevent AI button is actually specific to the team within the organization! In other words, when checked for the Portland Lumberjacks (other expansion team), it looks like it remains unchecked for the club's affiliated minor league teams. Maybe this could work! @tigersrock13.
