I had a theory but idk if it is even relevant to what Jack was trying to convey. It seems like a drug trip- (she teleports outside and the world seems colorful and dream like) and hallucinates a dead friend. either the friend died in a car crash of a heart attack relating to drugs- why they say "he's dead again" they are trying to process the grief and pain- "i hope you know i don't blame you" it references them taking a ride (his death might involve the car) or it's the drug trip that killed him when he overdosed and that's the ride. she isn't actually processing the grief well- and probably takes drugs to ease it even though it possibly got them in the state in the first place. the bubblegum might be a symbol for drugs- as they probably both engaged in that behaviour- and why she might feel guilty. he gave her the bubblegum- so he is partially to blame maybe. at the end it looks as if his face is twisted- on a high of some drug.

The end line then signifies to continue in their dark path and... -take some more dosage aka to the right. i genuinly wonder if there's a deeper meaning to this video or it's just,,, weird here's my theory!! so basically the girl got offered drugs by a random dude/another friend (this can be proven by the trippy imagery or the two med-like tablets that u see in the 0:29 timestamp and also the fact that she "popped" the "gum" that the other friend gave her) and while she's high she has a psychotic episode and ends up killing one of her friends (again proven by the whole "oh that dude is dead" thing and how the girl feels euphoric when she's outside which might allude to the fact that she's high) and the other friend that gave her the drugs in the first place simply blames it all on the drugs and continues on with their regular day-to-day life with the girl that killed their friend. this theory sounds dumb but it may be true lol (also, idk abt the whole "kissing hand" thing as well as the "eye-rolling" part. that may just be another thing to emphasize that the girl is euphoric/high.)

me and my friend have been thinking about this jack stauber video for a while, endlessly scrolling down the comments to find answers. and so, we chose to try and dissect the video ourselves to try and see if we can get some agreement on the interpretation. me and my friend feel that the video is about someone going through a stage of grief, remembering when their friend died (hence why the lyrics say “he’s dead AGAIN”). but, we’re trying to decipher each verse. we are stuck on the “kissing your hand” and “roll back your eye” parts, but i feel the “now you’re outside. grass is so nice” part adds onto the reminiscing part or a coping mechanism of sorts? the “slip in the back. startle my friend. has heart attack” is the part me and my friend are also stuck on. we believe that this is also the person relieving the memory of causing their friend’s death, causing them further grief or sorrow. NOW, the “i hope you know i dont blame you” part is when the both of us WENT WILD for it. it further showed that it has to be someone who is going through a stage of grief after the death of their friend, strongly believing that it was because of themself that their friend had a heart attack and died. my friend says that she feels this part shows the grieving person is beginning to no longer blame themself. now the “we were jonesing for the ride” part makes me feel that this person is further reminiscing on things they enjoyed to do with their friend (considering jonesing means fixation). my friend says that they had a fixation on being with their friend, or a fixation with memories that were filled with the grieving person and their friend. the “pop the gum that i gave you” further makes me and my friend believe this interpretation. now, the “keep on dosing to the right” has a z and s overlapping each other. now, when i saw it, I STRONGLY believed that this grieving person was taking antidepressants of sorts, or pills to make their grieving pains go away. while, my friend says that they saw “dozing” first and believe that they were taking pills to get sleep over the memory because it’s hard to sleep through grief. the “to the right” part of the verse just makes us think it implies taking the pills? however, the visuals at the end and at the beginning where it glitches reminds me of how the grieving person may have overdosed, while my friend believes that it implies they got addicted to it. the visuals of the eye also makes me think that they have been crying. BACK TO THE “kissing your hand. roll back your eye” part. me and my friend have come up with a theory. at first, i thought it was a way of greeting, but my friend said it could mean saying good-byes at a funeral. and the “roll back your eye” part reminded my friend of when you roll back your eye when you’re crying, like tilting your head upwards. we still wonder what the “kissing your hand. roll back your eye” part means because my friend said it could mean a variety of things. anyhow, have a good day/night to you all!
