Sean...your video is a great help to me as I intend to be finishing my KDP books myself. That is because after seeing if ChatGPT actually understood the subject I wanted to complete my books about...it couldn't come up with anything factual or true!

This is interesting because I've been looking at making medium content books as a side-hustle. But I'm also a published author of novels I've written myself and, from my perspective, the strongest feeling in the author community is nothing to do with low or medium content books and everything to do with the flood of nonsense books claiming to be fiction that people are producing on AI and flooding the KU program with, because it has a direct impact on the sales figures of every genuine author in the program. We don't have an issue with ghost writing. We have an issue with bots or unscrupulous A-hats gaming the system with books that don't even make sense. And that's before we even dive into the ethics of AI that's been trained on thousands of books or artworks it didn't have a right to use. I think in the right hands and for the right purposes, AI is a great tool to use. I would rather it was produced ethically, but that horse has already bolted. I would consider using it for artworks I can't produce myself. I would consider ghostwriting for someone else. It's a little disingenuous to say we're jealous. I'm all for people getting the dollars from their hustles. More power to them. I know a lot of authors that do low and medium content books to bring their own income up. And that's great. It's why I've been watching your videos. But the issues here are a little deeper than your catchy little soundbite makes them seem.

Before I didn't feel like it was worth it if I couldn't market/advertise my book effectively. Thank you Sean for telling the truth. As a KDP author of several different brands, I get so frustrated with the plethora of lies that so many are sharing. Don't even get me started on the clickbait for KZbin videos. Yuck!!!! It's a lot of hard work to create a successful KDP company and I'm grateful for folks like you who share honest tips. Hi Sean, I have been selling books for 4 years on Amazon. I sale about 50 books a month if lucky but never the number you say. I know I am in a niche (bilingual stories of a not a very known language) but I have tried everything with social media. I do not get comments, I do not get review but I still sale... I saw a video of u when you used grammerly and then entered it in that app that detects ai and it didn’t but when I did the same it’s telling me it is super sensitive and using basic apps like spell check is assuming it’s 100% Ai and not human . So if I publish this does this mean Amazon will also know and then ban the book ?

Hi Sean, I am having trouble sizing my covers for my 8.5 x 11 books. Even though I use the dimensions from the KDP template creator they keep getting flagged and I don’t know why. The proofs look fine. Do you have a video that covers this problem?

I had the same problem until I finally understood, my book manuscript was a PDF file 8.5 x 11, with color graphics. I checked bleed, and that was the problem. For bleed option the manuscript need to be 8.625 x 11.25 ( I resized in Canva, but Acrobat also work), for not bleed the 8.5 x 11 will be fine.

With AI getting better and better, I think that the mystique of the idea of "a book" will fade away. Why buy a book that you know was created in AI when you can just make your own.....or ask AI to copy an idea that you like. It will cheapen creation to the point of being valueless.

What i really wanna know about the AI generated content declaration on Amazon is this --> Are they gonna plaster it in big bold letters for the customer to see? Or are they going to make it more discreet, in subtle and smaller writing. Because to be honest, that makes all the difference.
