I once got snow blindness after skiing in Lapland during spring. Spent the whole day out on lakes ice fishing and without even realizing I had burned my eyes while doing it. Had splitting headache, my eyes felt like there was sand in them and spent days in a dark room because my eyes couldn't stand any light after that. Spent way more money on my sunglasses since then.

I really enjoyed this video. I would be very interested in lip balms, sunscreens, bug sprays, moisturizers, etc. that you have seen are of high quality through all your experience. Thanks for all the videos and info.

I love amber lens, polarised with UV-A&B-B protection in plastic lens and high light transmittance. I like adjustable nose bridges and big lenses but like the whole lot to be light weight. Scratches don't bother me all that much so I get years of use from them. Mostly I use them to cut glare: I live in the rainy temperate zone. They perform well enough in the tropics too by adding a brimmed hat - though ocassionally I've improvise side shields with a scarf (or cardboard!) when the glare got way up after some rain. I'd need really different glasses for altitude, snow or sports. But bush, jungle, city and roads it works for me.

Any thoughts on polarized vs non-polarized for hiking?

Sunglasses (and reading glasses) from Dollar Tree work well for me.

do sunglasses for 6000-8000m have to fully seal around your eyes? like goggles? so far all specialised glasses I tried always left a thin gap on the under side and behind the protectors on the side towards the ear?
