In this Nying Knife Refurbishing video I did cleaning, sanding, polishing and refreshing the leather sheath. The Nying knife and the sheath are in generally good condition, it looks like the previous owner didn't care much to keep the knife in top shape. I am glad I will refurbish this one because it is produced here in Norway by #Helle. The exact model is Helle Nying and it is quite popular due to the size and shape. Until recently it was available to purchase online here in Norway, but it is not manufactured anymore. The price of a knife and sheath as a set was around $100. It could be still in stock worldwide and potentially on a discount because it is an older model. Hope you enjoyed this video, see you in the next one!

Excellent restoration as always! I HIGHLY suggest "Obenauf's Leather Oil" for stiff dry leather, and any Obenauf's products for that matter. They are all natural, safe for leather, and somehow they've mastered the formula to smell like "new leather". I'm not sure of availability where you are though. Thanks for the vid.

I gave a Hella Nying to my dad many years ago, such a beautiful knife. Now I have it and it is a joy as I have hand issues that don’t let my fingers close. I think I’ll take it out and oil the leather, not that it needs it.

That it awesome! Sorry to hear about your hand 😔 I highly recommend oiling handle at least once every year (this way wood will never go dry and crack) and same for leather sheath. Leather balsam worked quite well for me. If you do this every year, knife and sheath will stay in good shape for a very long time.

This is a Norwegian knife, Helle Nying. It is very strange to see it in this condition, especially the rust on the blade, since it is made of three-layer laminated stainless steel.
