That first fish was cool to watch you hook so quickly. I'm glad I watched the video before commenting! Being born and raised in SW Washington I've known a surprising amount of people who are misinformed that eat raw salmon and steelhead from the rivers. I wouldn't eat cooked sturgeon either unless I was confident the fish had just left ocean waters.

Another great episode. I’ve been a subscriber for a couple weeks since discovering your channel. Been binge-watching your whole Alaska series and everything I’ve missed that shows up in my recommendations now. Just a wonderful relaxing channel with great fishing, scenery, friendships, and chef’s food. (Can’t forget craft beer as well) One thing I noticed as a lifelong fisherman, is that you put the handle on your spinning reels on the right side. I’ve always done that as well. Every conventional reel has the handle on the right and I found having a spinning reel handle on the left side, extremely awkward. I won’t even buy a reel that doesn’t allow it to be switched to the right side. Just an observation and we’re a rare sort of fisherman who reel exclusively from the right side. Mahalo nui for the great channel! Aloha from Washington State. 🤙🏼
