Love this video! It’s the middle of summer and 90 degrees here in Georgia I cannot wait for this duck season

Here in Norway swans often rest , both on the water and on fields, together with ducks and geese, so ...a trick that works wonderfully is to use 1 go 2 swan decoys together with the ducks and/or geese decoys. It really gives trust to the spread .

Definitely adding to my motion and battleship FF decoys! But here’s a strange one for ya. I was taught and have done it every year but, I take my decoys as soon as they show up brand new or every 2 years, and go buy about 15 cans of matte clear coat enamel and shellac all of my decoys. It has worked for me all this time but there are times when I run into tough birds that I can’t figure to please or just plain out won’t work the spread right, same with spinners, I’ve had great luck with spinners and absolute shit days with them so idk tell me what yall think and if you or any of your hunting buddies do the same with their decoys.. I also take out my spinners around 3-4 week of season but when I run traffic not sitting on the X…I have had good luck turning the spinners off once I have the Ducks attention.

If you believe in mimicking realism, I have another idea that might help. If you see live ducks on the water, you'll notice that they are not maintaining approximately equal distances between each other. When you're setting up by wading it's possible to set your decoys so that some decoys are inches apart and might occasionally touch and others are feet apart. I call it avoiding the "equidistant duck syndrome." It's harder to do this using Texas rigged decoys but it can be done to some extent. If you use the decoy cord wrapped around the keel and a rubber loop cut from a bicycle tire inner tube with the cord passing through it as a clamp to hold the cord on the keel, you can adjust your strings so they're only a few inches longer than the water depth allowing you to set some decoys very close. Also, this may help in weeds as the short cord will allow decoys to be set such that they don't just blow up against the nearby weeds looking like statues. One other thing. When possible, have your blind in the shade. Best of Luck!

Completely agree with your spinner assessment! But what do you think about flicker wings?
@kevinkuehn6192Ай бұрын
Agree with pulling spinners. Sometimes I move them completely upwind out of the spread or take them out completely. I have some flocked decoys I've been saving for late season. any advice on cleaning them after use?

What was the name of the portable blind you mentioned at 2:11? Did you say fast track?

Coot decoys are the best because if the ducks don’t come in at least you can have a coot shoot

What is the thing under the barrel of one of the shotguns in the intro? I’ve seen them in a few videos. Thanks.

I love to use more hens than drakes. There's always more hens in a flock
