Happy Birthday Luis 🎂🎉🎊🎁 I pray you have at least 40+ more birthdays to come. I’d like to say Thank you for being the generation that come before my generation who worked hard to make Things easier for my generation behind you. My Mother passed at 53 with cancer & My Dad would be 90 now in 2024 but he passed in 2016 at 82. You’re 80 so Dad was 10 years older than you and you’re 20 years older than I am. So I’m still the generation behind you and Thank you and all the generations that came before me for making the world better for my generation. I intend on making it & leaving it better for the generations behind me as well !!! I’m a firm believer in GODS HOLY WORD The Holy Bible and God said something I’ve always tried to live by. He said: Respect ✊🏼 your Elders and Honor and Respect your mother and your father so that doing so so shall your days on earth be longer! So Once again Happy Birthday 🎂 🎈🎉🎊 and I Pray 🙏🏼 That God Gives you many more birthdays to come Luis ! May God Bless You is my prayer !!!! Amen 🙏🏼

If you plan on keeping the cabin for a long time invest in rockwool rather than fiberglass. More expensive but mold resistant, fireproof, and better sound deadening. Also it’s stone dust, rodents won’t nest as easy.
@123tanners8 ай бұрын
Good advise. I think Rockwool is easier and faster to install as well. Buy the special knife for cutting it if you do Mike.
@charlesgallant7568 ай бұрын
The rodents love to play in the fiberglass insulation, the mineral insulation ( rockwool ) the rodents will not go and play in it. Also there are many other avantages to like Mold resistance. Also if you don't plan on having continuous heating in the cabin, everytime you will heat the cabin in the winter it might create some condensation inside the exterior wall and the rockwool will also help you with that

We had a 40'x40' attached garage built onto our house 3 years ago and I calculated out how much insulation would cost for us to do it ourselves, then I got an estimate from an insulation contractor, his price was $100 more, I immediately said sold! I just recently talked to a friend of ours who used to do insulation for 25 years and he said that they always beat the price that DIYers paid because of their volume purchases. AND, you don't have to mess with any of the measuring, buying, transporting, installing, it's done the way it should be done and it takes them way shorter time, you don't worry about the cleanup. We were very, very happy!!

I enjoyed the walk about, when I'm in the woods I look at trees all the time too always thinking what they could / would make. 2 seasons ago I had the most wonderful view from my North stand of 26 turkey Polts and watched them grow into beautiful young Turkeys many Jake's in the bunch, that year was a great hatch but last season the hatch wasn't good, had a lot of Raccoon and Coyote in the area which I think contributed to the problem. I go Turkey hunting more for the show than to bag one (I can go to the store and buy one cheaper) I love the Precious metal purchase from (hats over your heart folks) Bass Pro Shop! Mike, something I wanted to share with you. On our property was "the old wood-shed" long gone and not even a trace of it left but the memory of my grandmother. In the area where it once sat comes the biggest darn morels every spring. The 1st time I got 105 of them and filled a 1/2 bushel bucket and part of another one with my finds. Some over 6" high. Shortly after my brother put cattle on that property and they stopped coming. Another thing, there aren't as many apple trees anymore as when I was a kid. The folks of the 30's, 40. and 50's had apple trees all over. Black and red cherries and plums on almost every homestead. We need to put back, they dont last forever like red woods.

You have a very nice property there in WV. We have 35 acres and I would estimate that we have never laid eyes on about 1/3 of it or so. It's thick woods with a lot of under brush. Little-by-little we are cleaning it up and opening it up. I spend a lot of time looking around at trees as well. I find the dead ones to use for firewood and others that I just want to remove. I would love to start a firewood business like you have done, but unfortunately here in north/central Florida there isn't a real big market. We more-or-less have about 2 or 3 months out of the year where it gets cold enough to burn in a fireplace. Quite a bit of what I cut down and process is Oak, Hickory and maybe some Sweet Gum or Maple.
