Same thing with my string trimmer, Mike! Stored since last November and a few pumps on the fuel bulb, set the choke and second PULL and off it goes. That non-Ethanol with the oil last a long time. I add about an ounce of STA-BIL to each gallon. Never a problem with the gas.

So glad to hear you reminding us about your baseball playing days. Although I'm 6' 4 /2" tall and played some basketball, my favorite sport has always been baseball...and I had some great experiences in the All-Star category as I went along. But, the most fun was when my oldest brother was recruited by the St. Louis Cardinals to come play for them. That was back around 1960 or so and the Cards made him skip the minors completely and he went straight to Busch Stadium. I always listened to the Cardinals on KMOX in St. Louis, so it was a thrill when James got to play outfield with folks like Stan Musial. Another of his "coaches" was Red Schoendienst, the "King Cardinal." Unfortunately, James' career ended after one year. He was helping an elderly lady park her car in a parking lot and she made a mistake. Instead of hitting the brakes when he told her, she hit the accelerator. She got scared and "accidentally" turned her car into him, crushing his knees between the car bumper and the concrete brick wall. Oh, well. Fun to remember those good old days....and growing up on the edge of the MS State University campus, I got to work with the Bulldogs in a variety of ways....but the most fun was running the big scoreboard (manual in those days...we just hung up the metal sheets on the scoreboard as we sat on the bench out in left field. Ahhh, the "good old days"!! Thanks for stimulating more memories! ~ Dr. Larry S. Anderson • Tupelo, MS (birthplace of Elvis)

Great History Larry! A real shame about that “accident”, oh what might have been! I worked Accident Investigation and we heard a story of one “Professional” media car reviewer who hit the Accelerator instead of the brake three separate times at prerelease, ride and drive shows. It happens a lot more than people think unfortunately.

Hi Mike & Melissa. Here in Ontario we don't have ethanol free fuel. I use the high octane fuel in all my small engines, I do put fuel conditioner in. @@sleddog46, Peter, I used to work for a Major Automobile Manufacturer and I was on the Fuel and Lube Committee, they told us that to clean out your fuel system just run a tank of Hi Octane/Premium fuel through your vehicle once a year. that battery powered saw sure is convenient. I'm so happy we have so many battery powered tools to choose from these days and no longer have to run a long extension cord to do quick jobs like cutting the IBC tote, or blowing the sawdust off the saw mill, or cutting a few firewood logs. Sometimes the convenience factor wins the day.

Hey Mike got a suggestion for ur sawmill. On the side the saw dust falls could you some type of trough to catch the sawdust then use the forks on ur tractor to haul it off to a disposal area. Maybe not a good idea but maybe could work out something like that.

I started using ethanol free gas last year for my chainsaw and trimmers and my trimmer started as yours did. I just stopped tonight and bought more and it was $4.01 a gallon. I have stihl equipment and last year started using Echo fuel 2 cycle oil because after watching a few KZbin videos on what the inside of a chainsaw looked like, I switched. Even though I bought a new stihl chainsaw and for the warranty they sell their oil mixture. We just had 48 tons of limestone delivered for driveway and other areas.

Could also paint ends of logs....especially if they r going to sit a while before milling. I learned the hard way with some nice logs.

Hi Morgans! Strange about the ethanol free gas. Where I live, (Manitoba Canada) all fuels sold in the province are mandated to contain at least 10% ethanol. So non ethanol fuel does not exist here besides something like Aspen or it's equivalent. But that costs about $40/gal so I do not use it. Having said that, my chain saw had been sitting for 18 months (I was injured, long story) with gas in it (regular unleaded 10% ethanol blend) and it fired on the second pull and was running on the 4th pull. I use Opti 3 2 stroke oil which has fuel stabilizer in it, which probably helped. I use regular ethanol blended gas in all my small engines for over 20 years and have had zero issues. I have seen tons of derogatory stuff online about ethanol blended fuels and small engines, but I have not experienced that myself. Love your channel, never miss a video! Keep it up!

I brought the lawn mower home from a storage building we rented, put 10 year old gas in it, Sunoco 110 also Ethanol Free, what I had in a gas can and 8 pulls it was running, cut the grass yesterday, MAN it felt good to cut the grass. It is very likely true that densified softwood pellets have higher heating values than those made from hardwoods. Softwoods like pine and spruce have about 5% more combustion heat value per pound than do hardwppds because of their higher resin content. Softwoods have lower heat value per cord, a volume measure, than most hardwoods because they have much lower density.
