I'm a fall person too. I like the cold weather "I don't like to BE cold", but the fall weather is cooler and more comfortable for me to be outside doing things! I'm tired of the hot weather from summer and it's just enjoyable for me. Hello from Wisconsin!

Toss up way down here in the deep South, but fall it is. Only problem is that it only lasts a couple of weeks. Moves from hotter than hades to cold with just a couple of weeks of what could be considered fall. Spring would be the strong second. Love the new growth and plants coming up. Enjoy the videos.

I'm in Hickory NC, the foothills of the great smokey mountains! So happy! I love Melissa's shirt, awesome, and her hat. We citizens really should be uniting against this great reset the rulers are planning to drag us through! Hannah's got a little Archie! Tank! I commented he needs a sibling. Imagine them coming to visit, boy wouldn't Archie be happy! I know you are always keeping your equipment serviced, but it is nice to see it happening, you know, for us out here that may have not thought about it yet, thanks. Thanks for sharing Mike and Melissa. I enjoyed the 20 minutes w you this morning! Bless you all! 👍🚜❤🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great video Morgan’s, for me the seasons in order of preference are Autumn, Spring, Summer and then Winter. We like our wood in 16” with a mix of what you produce with the six way and some a bit smaller, we use a stove and a fire pit. Over here in the UK the weather has changed overnight from summer to autumn, it’s like a switch was thrown, one day 28 degrees and the next 13, really caught us out this year! Take care, please say hello to Hunter, Eva and all the others in the clan.

Central Maine here, I have an outdoor wood burning furnace. It can take 32 inch long wood, but the splitter can only split 25 inch wood. So I cut all my wood 24 inches. If the round is about 8-10 inches across, it is not split. So depending on diameter, I make pieces as big as possible just so I can handle them to put in furnace. Have a day Morgan’s.

We made huge cauldrons of apple butter (Indiana) when I was very young and through high school. On the seasons; It is a tossup up for me on my favorite season. I actually like Spring and Fall the best and equally. I like watching the new growth of the leaves showing up on the trees and the smell of the air. My house backs up to about 1,000 acres of sugar cane. I like the smell of the plowing then watch the new growth as the cane gets taller. Then in the fall the colors as the leaves turn from green to the mix yellows, orange, rust, and reds. For about 15 years in a row we went to the Smokey Mountains just before the peak fall colors. Summer and winter are second and they are about equal too. I really like being at my camp on a 50 to 60 degree morning. Just sitting in the swing on the porch with my wife, in my robe and knee socks with a hot mug of coffee and our cats in our laps. Watching the river roll by on it journey to the Gulf of Mexico. The wildlife is pretty active too and we enjoy watching them. It is a good time to pray and thank the GOOD LORD for our blessings and hardships. During the summer at the camp I start the day off just like the winter, except we are in shorts and a tee shirt. After a late breakfast we will start the chores like, picking up fallen limbs, cutting the grass, and general up keep of the house and property. Then cool down with a dip in the river and a little fly fishing while my wife gets some sun in her lounge chair in the river. Each season has its pros and cons. We have mild winters as compared to the northern part of the country. Most days a tee shirt and long sleeve shirt will do. I do keep a light jacket in my truck from late October to late April. Last winter we only had one day at our home where there was Ice in the fountain. By mid morning it was gone.

Fall is my favorite. I'm in Maysville Ky and the persimmon seeds are showing spoons so that means a lot of shoveling snow :) Cut a persimmon seed in half and it will be a spoon, fork, or knife. Spoon is shoveling, fork is a milder powdery snow, and the knife means cutting winds.

Fall here in NW Georgia is a big change from the west coast of Florida where I grew up, St Pete - Tampa area. The days in fall are far cooler as is the winter days. Summer is still quite hot, especially this year. The only thing I loathe is the leaves, what a frick'en mess they pose each fall. I burn, I burn and I burn some more and will till next April - May. I do like PA, my grandfather was from Honesdale and I visited there quite often as a child. Honesdale was the home of the Stourbridge Lion the first steam locomotive in the United States. Many will say it was the Tom Thumb that came first but it didn't run successfully . The Stourbridge Lion carries particular importance in American railroad history as it was the first steam locomotive to be successfully operated during the summer of 1829, one year prior to the Baltimore & Ohio's "Tom Thumb", designed by Peter Cooper. Honesdale was also the home to a 16 mile gravity railroad. The Delaware & Hudson Canal Co.'s Gravity Railroad. Gravity Railroad Engineer Benjamin Wright suggested the Gravity Railroad, the company's engineer, as a more practical means of hauling coal over the Moosic Mountains than sleds and wagons used previously. On the tracks of this railroad, the first commercial locomotive - the Stourbridge Lion -turned a wheel by steam in America. Extending from Carbondale in Lackawanna County to Honesdale, the Gravity was sixteen miles long. Starting from the coalfields at Carbondale, an elevation of 1,200 feet, rose to 1,907 feet at Rix's Gap utilizing five planes. From this elevation, the road descended on the east side of the Moosic Mountains by three planes and levels to Honesdale, elevation 975 feet. Stationary steam engines operated the cars on each plane utilizing two drums and a huge chain. On the three planes descending to Honesdale, the loaded cars required no motive power. The chains were not practical and soon were discarded in favor of hemp cables, which were 7 1/2 inches in circumference and presented difficulties because of slipping. Finally, they were replaced by the first steel cables - made by John Roebling.

To answer 2 of your questions, we have 6 seasons in Vermont, Winter-mud-spring-summer-fall-stick. You might not recognize "Stick" season, between fall and winter, it is when you look out and all you see are sticks, no leaves and no snow, just sticks. About wood size, I like small to medium, we heat the house with a Hearthstone Soapstone wood burning stove and mostly medium to small splits are the best for my stove. I can load it to heat up to 12 hours with the right nmix of sizes.

Maple is my favorite firewood. Medium sized pieces. Red Oak is good, better in something big like a furnace, and in a furnace it burns well and clean even if it is green. Elm burns hot, but it doesn't leave much of a coalbed unless you have a lot of it in a furnace, then you get a good bed of coals, but nasty to split unless it is freezing outside. There is a tree in the U.P. of Michigan we call Iron Wood, and it makes nice firewood, but it is 'tough' to split; not stringy like elm but hard.

We only have 2 real seasons up here (Alaska)... winter and summer...spring and fall may last a week or two if we are lucky. We have cut out every species of tree except Alder for its pulp (used for mulch in our greenhouses and square foot gardening out between the tree lines, its growth speed for fire wood and limb mulch for our trails between our cabins and the main lodge bldg.), and the Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) used for our lumber specifically (we grow these trees in 3 rows spaced 30 feet from its neighbor on all sides around each 20 acre plot it gives a buffer from the blizzards and snow drifting into the Alders spacing is crucial to our tree production from the sky in the summer they look like giant squares surrounded by a border separating them from other squares).. All our log cabins are made from treated red cedar pre cut to fit. Each year we build a new cabin on the lodge side and one on the residential side. Every 3 years we build a new barn and expand our operation further into the hills behind us. Making use of land for more wildlife to thrive and stopping mud slides before they happen! Winter by far is my favorite time of year, ice fishing on the lake with my community (our local native Indians, and our other homesteaders, our children their children and now their children). HUGE cookouts on the lodge side, bow hunting (we don't allow hunting with guns on the homestead to many guests and also our own stock animals, hand guns are required though for self preservation) in the winter is an EXTREME sport here if you are not a good shot don't come here in the winter, if you can't handle -30 F in the calm and -50 in the chill then stay home, if you don't have proper attire stay at home if you don't have health AND life insurance stay at home, if you are one of those eco types don't bother showing up you will be target practice for the local Indians they don't like your kind! OK so yes we love winter here you wont see Democrats anywhere near here!!! By the way our MANY rifles are NOT FOR HUNTING!!! Another great Video M&M's you are Family, Faith, and Freedom lover's too, god bless and a great day to you!

Greetings from No VT - Fall is my favorite. We have a large soapstone wood stove at our VT home, so we like reasonably large splits on the wood since the stove will accommodate it, and you don't have to stoke the stove as often. LOVE white oak and maple for burning followed by red oak then ash and white birch. Don't like poplar or yellow birch, not a lot of BTUs, so not worth the effort.

round pieces burn longer if it will fit in a wood stove or fire place.. I remember as a kid my dad and I would cut half and half split /round and we would burn round cuts at night so we would not have to get up and refill the wood stove as often ....

When you sell wood, you need it to burn quicker so people can buy more. Quiet agree half round burn slower.

Good morning Morgans, I’m in Iowa and I prefer fall the most I think. Also prefer my firewood on the smaller side. I think it takes off better and burns better.

My favorite season has to be summer as that is when I gather all our firewood for the winter. To much snow here in New Brunswick for my liking. Just a side storry, I was cutting an old maple log this last week and ran into an old metal maple tap which was buried about 3 inches inside the log. Wrecked my saw blade. Grrrrrrrr!!

FALL IS OUR FAVORITE! We do love 4 seasons in Maine. Late winter, ski or snowshoe, turns to making maple syrup. Summer on coast in Maine and fresh seafood. I guess we like the season we are in so all 4. Cut and split firewood 2” approx x 16” long. Dries quicker but also burns faster and hotter in maple arch.

Hello! 🙂 I'm with Melissa, I like cinnamon. I put a hefty amount on my toast in the morning. I guess ginger would come in as a close second favorite seasoning. Love me some ginger snaps. We are so fortunate to enjoy the 4 seasons, each having their own special qualities and each one also making us look forward to the next one coming too. One season I do dread is income tax season.

My favorite season is BASEBALL SEASON! My favorite climatological season depends heavily on the geographical location in question. Here, at sea level on the Puget Sound, winter stinks. It seldom snows at all; there MAY be one accumulation of a few inches in a season, but that almost always vanishes in the next day or two; we virtually never have a stretch of truly cold weather (highs below freezing); and it is just damp or wet most of the time. The other season, here, is a nice summer which mostly stays below the upper nineties and is often sunny.

Fall, for hunting, fishing, and scenery, Winter for ice fishing , no lawn mowing, no mud, and maple syrup making, Summer time at camp with family, but don't care for too hot or humid, last, Spring virtually nonexistent in WNY, nice days are so rare, all the mud... ugh the worst.

Hi Mike. Mike from south east Wisconsin. Personally I like winter. I love snow ❄️. I don't do anything in the snow, just plow my driveway. I can always put on more clothes in winter but one can only take off so much in summer.

From: San Antonio, Texas....my favorite seasons are; Autumn and Fall...Winter is OK, but as a person gets older the body starts to hurt. Spring here in Texas is beautiful with the state flowers, our Blue Bonnets growing everywhere....and of course Summer (you can cook an egg on our sidewalks) TOO HOT 🔥 🥵 😋 but nothing like a cold drink of lemon aid or tea to cool down!!....and YES (IT HARDLY SNOWS IN WINTER HERE IN SAN ANTONIO...BUT WHEN IT DOES...PEOPLE GET CRAZY TAKING PICTURES AND PLAYING IN THE SNOW. WELL...THAT'S IT FOR OUR SEASONAL ENJOYMENT.....SEE Y'ALL NEXT TIME!

Spring time in the Central Serra mountains. I cut my wood to 16” lengths and I split a variety of sizes. Small to get things going and big for all nighters. Oak & Cedar, Cedar is used for kindling mainly.

Fall, there is just a cool smell in the air, although we usually do not have dramatic distinct season like PA Mike, we do have changes here in the "swamps of SE Texas / SW La. I do remember esp as a kid, the "Blue Norther" coming in with wind and a drop in temp sometimes 20+ degrees, as a kid i always hoped from snow on Christmas... love the videos, have not heard from Hunt man lately, and Hannah, i think i saw Eva and Levi tho.. tell them all we love them from SE Texas Bear.... keep on keepin on Brother!

I enjoy all seasons and look forward tp them as they come. But by far its fall. I was in construction for 46 years and really looked forward to hunting season to hunt in many different places. When I lived in Ft London Pa. I hunted pheasant, deer hunting in New York,PA, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming as long as the money held out.

Fall for sure! Interesting thing about the size of wood, I used to leave it bigger the thought was that it would last longer through the night but last year I split it smaller and so I’m sure it dries more this producing more heat which is important cause I have a wood boiler. Great video keep up the great work !!
