Good you got rid of the holes on the built in sorting table. Splits tend to get into them while another round is being pushed through the wedge. The designs are ever improving!

Great walk through on the exact machine I have, even the color! I added the hydraulic oil cooler, table extender, and have the brass slides to put on the next time they need changed. What an awesome machine it is and my only consideration as a replacement would be the 17VS so hopefully you can do a review on it as many others are very interested in it!! Thanks Bob!!

I've had my 28C for just about 2 months. I'm glad I purchased the 6-way wedge and the extended sorting table. The one thing I probably didn't need and won't use is the stroke limiter. The machine is awesome. Without a conveyer, you literally need 3-guys to run at full capacity. That's how fast it is. The box wedge system interests me. If I ever upgrade, I'll seriously consider it.

Thank you for the feedback! I was thinking to show the stroke limiter on this but with the 24 inch stroke and 16 inch cut firewood it doesn’t leave any margin really. Return is so quick I don’t think it’s needed on a 24 inch stroke machine like this… unless doing real short stuff for BBQ smokers or something.

I have had my 28C for a year now. I am at 24 hours. Probably have split around 15 cords. It is a beast, I have yet to find something it will not push through the 4-way head. I took it to a family members home a couple weeks ago, even with 2 men loading logs, the could not keep up with the splitter. And I assume my cycle time is around 10 sec. Great machine!

You should try Mike Morgan's offset split technique, splitting into three small pieces and one large. Resplit the large one....done! 😆😆😆

I’ve seen that method but haven’t really tried it yet. I suspect when I run a pile of firewood for myself I’ll use it.

This is the one I have been waiting for.I will be placing my order for this spring. I talked to Chris about a month ago and this is demo is the best so far. I noticed that the beams paint has worn off sooner than usual? Is that do to different wear parts under the push plate? Will be calling soon to place my order.

When do you think that you folks will put out the video on the VS-C with the bigger motor and pump? I'm anxious to see that one run. The vertical splitter with no conveyor is tweaked in nicely. Better than the prototype video even. I can only imagine the VS-C being faster and more powerful?

Now I'm upset. No more cutouts in the standard outfeed tray. They sure come in handy as hand grab holes when the end of the splitter is buried in a pile of splits.

No idea why I watched this, as I have a 28C myself. Besides, my 28C is easier to look at as it is in the prettiest color you guys offer, dark sapphire. It is a gorgeous color. Only thing I'd do different is order the 35C for a stronget push when using the 12-way.

Can a box wedge be installed on a 35c or is that only an option on a SHO.

The SHO box wedge machine is different like the firewood doctor mentioned. You can run a traditional wedge on a box wedge machine, but not the other way around. Additionally with the traditional wedge on a box wedge machine, the height is adjustable but fixed in place with bolt and nut. Next week video like this will be with the 35 SHO box wedge.

@crperformancetucker5065 - I have several videos of the 35 SHO Box wedge on my channel. The other option for the box wedge is the HDI model, that is the model without training wheels 😂 it has fork pockets and a skid steer plate.
