For everyone who hasn't played this game: The reason so many people in the comments are adamant for you to try the game is because it's release was massively overshadowed by The Outer Worlds. There was so much more attention towards the latter, and so much confusion between the two, that Outer Wilds was criminally overlooked. Those of us who have played the game know its quality, and know it's a phenomenal experience, and often get.... passionate about introducing new people to the game. Try the game on your own time, as your own choice, but please take this as a sincere recommendation!

Not exactly, it took them 2:31 to do something you have 22 minutes to do [Start of their last loop, to reaching the eye of the Universe], and in total did in 8:58 what most players take 30 to 45 minutes in total to do [Start of their last loop, to reaching the end of the game]. Here's why: The first 2:11 of this speedrun is spent on the first loops to start the game and then unlock sleep, their actual last loops only starts then. Then, they reach the Eye of the Universe at 5:41 where time stops (well not really but you can safely watch the sun go supernova from there and still reach the vortex, where then time effectively stops) = [ 2:31 minutes to do something you have 22 minutes to do] Then, for a regular player from the start of their last last loop at the campfire to the end of the game [minus credit] it takes most players about 30 to 45 minutes (I've watched many let's plays), which this speedrunner did in 8:58 total (11:09 minus the first 2:11 minutes) = [in total did in 8:58 minutes what most players take 30 minutes to do]

I saw a speedrun where the person actually skipped the entire first section of the eye by flinging themselves through the vessel’s doors right as the black hole warped them away so that they were on the side with no collisions. They then used their scout gun to propell themselves out of the ship and into the planet (which i assume also didnt have collisions yet because they skipped the black hole) and down through those vortexes and into the next sequence. It shaved off all that extra time it took to walk across the planet

I remember playing this game, I somehow found the space ship that takes you out of the bramble by complete accident, I had to abandon my ship and I just happened to float through the right hole and barely made it to the ship without suffocating, I was so confused as to how I could never find it after before I realized that, that happening on my first try was like a 1 in a million chance, I also once sent the probe into the quantum moon (or whatever it was called) and looked away, but found the location of the planet on the map, so I always wondered if it was possible to beat the game by simply flying there
