Has to be tough given the expectations. I'm an Orioles fan so usually pur expectations are usually pretty low. Hopefully our time is coming soon though. A lot of high hopes in our organization right now. Rightfully so. Been a long time coming though.

@@tcbowen12 orioles looking good and fun to see! I love when a down team finally puts things together. Especially a team that beat the Yankees 14-1 last night!

@@JC-bl9bo that was definitely a fun one to watch. We have 4 guys on the roster 25 or younger right now and quite a few more making their case to get that call. Fun time to be an Os fan right now. Those guys are having some fun this year for sure. It's good to see.

If Eddie is paying attention, I think he may have an ITPHR! McNeil is usually pretty solid, but I’ll take a Mets blunder anytime they’re playing ATL!

@@SithScribe21 Fer real, though. Atlanta is a bonafide BEAST of a freaking team! 8 all stars, all four starting infielders are all stars. The pitching staff is just about as devestating as the famous Maddu-Glavine-Smoltz rotation. Zero excuses for the braves to not win the World Series this year. I think theyre actually better than the Rays as well.

Not hustling on the bases was worse than dropping the ball once. Let alone three times.

If you're in that situation as a runner that's a standup double 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. The fact that it was mishandled 3 times in a row is so rare, it's a miracle he got to 3rd in the first place. It's almost akin to giving a runner flack for not sprinting on a hit popped up to RF after a drop. In just about any case that fielder is gonna play the ball right and there's a potential for an out. This runner didn't have an out to risk but exerting himself for something that can be jogged just wastes energy that they might need on a hit to the outfield that results in a bang bang play at the plate

Yeah you gotta eliminate that transfer. It should be "routine" but anytime you have a runner going extra bases it's not quite routine. The pressure is elevated.

Actually, the ball falls out of his glove twice before he has a chance of getting it into his hand. Seems large gloves may be benificial for catching fly balls, but not for what we see here.

If Rosario had been running hard past second, there's a great chance he would have scored on that play during the 3rd bobble.

Yeah, but the chances of him dropping it one time, nevermind THREE...Just not something that happens at this level. Especially from a solid left fielder like McNeil. I doubt anyone would have been steaming around second with the intention of scoring.

seems like a classic case of slow down just a second. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
@genesispuredeaf2390
@genesispuredeaf2390 Жыл бұрын
Actually, you missed THE point which is to eliminate the transfer. It may have been laziness or might be that he needs to drill the bare handed method more so that he isn’t using his glove. Your theory that slow is smooth and smooth is fast only applies to those who don’t already have the basics down so better stated (even for them) is “form first”. Get the form right and then you can go as fast as you want (so long as proper form holds up). If McNeil had slowed down but still used his glove, he still has to transfer the ball.
@genesispuredeaf2390
@genesispuredeaf2390 Жыл бұрын
No sir, he only dropped the ball twice. The first mishandling wasn’t a drop …unless you are saying he had possession but somehow let it slip out of his hand. The second and third were clearly drops as he attempted the transfer (glove -> hand).
