Ahhh! I never liked wasteful movie sets. My folks used to build those all the way out to the midwest and Canada, before Sears-Roebuck sold Craftman homes from a catalog. Some of Greatgrandad's handiwork still stands on the old homesteads.

The one aspect of Outlander I cannot live with. Acting and cast superb and, in the beginning at least, a lot of attention to historical detail. But this house is more like Downton Abbey on Tay. I know it has to be big for filming and it is in the books but the level of sophistication ( even a grandfather clock!) is far too much for a settlement on a ridge many days ride away from any town. It look sas though the set designers just looked in the B&Q catalogue and went round to the store behind the studio.
