What soldering iron did you use, price and where to purchase it and where did you get the pins and what size are they, thank you in advance!
@slotr26 күн бұрын
it's just an unbranded ebay special iron, get a variable one , search for jewellery soldering board pins on ebay, same for the block

@@DNASlotCars I like the fact he chose something different. Too many of the same cars at the car show if you catch my drift. I like the weird cool stuff

Just a little tip from a seasoned racer. The body mounts should allow some float. A ridged body can create all sorts of issues.
@slotr2 ай бұрын
Oooh thank you, in both axis or just front to rear?
@georgealba11062 ай бұрын
@@slotr front and rear. Just a little float, not much. Roughly 1-3mm

@@georgealba1106 thank you, i guess that's to cushion the hit as much as anything?
@georgealba11062 ай бұрын
@@slotr the body can cause binding on the chassis. Also, make sure you check your wheelie bar heights from track to track. I see many try to use sticky traction glue to “bandage” the issue. Ballpark Tips. Tires spinning = too low Nosing up off launch = too high Use a match book or a wedge to set the height. DON’T bend the bars! Re-solder the wheelie wheels into place.

Seemingly painting the chuffin' thing! It's been for a swim in the isopropanol since then, it's actually a bit of a panic to get it done in time now! If it turns up at Slotfest looking like Murder Nova, you know it went wrong again! LOL

Interesting one Dave. I hope to get over to Gaydon again next Sat or Sun with my daughter and if I see you there I'll once again say 'Hi'. This build is 'proper Essex' and reminds me of the late 80s when you guys all drove around in Escort XR3s and 'Essex girls' were something of national pejoration in being and, for some strange reason, it was observed that they all ran around wearing white shoes. Still, Victoria Beckham managed to do alright for herself out of all this 'nonsense' but in the here and now then please do keep this slot car 'white'.

Hey dave Building a 1/32 drag strip Do you know were to get parts for the chassis I see part for 1/24 but not 1/32 Like Chassis parts Tires Motors Etc Thanks
@slotr5 ай бұрын
I was thinking of doing the same if the weather stays fine here for long enough to cut and rout sheets of wood, certainly in the UK 1/32 drag racing doesn't really exist so I guess you could define your own class that uses readily available components ?
