Couldn’t agree more with the smoothness of autopilot in stop and go traffic. It will get you rear ended on the Belt Parkway it’s so aggressive since it often has to slam on the brakes again because the car in front of you quickly stops! I find that turning it off and on occasionally will alleviate some of the harshness, but it’s not good. I’ve had both my dog and my wife look at me while using it in stop and go traffic, both with the same expression. 😂😂😂

On my trip back from Malibu a couple of weeks ago, I made the mistake of picking a hotel just because it had EA Fast Chargers in the parking lot of the hotel. The only good thing I can say about the choice was that the EA chargers worked well. I always enjoy your road trips with your beautiful bride, keep posting!

4:31 LOL Red Roof Inn --- I've actually stayed at one in 2015 that wasn't too bad. But you know that motel I mentioned in my earlier comment about where I stayed in June? I think it was a Red Roof Inn, though I'm not certain as I've suppressed the memory a little.

It is plain to the casual observer that loosing meals is your punishment for the motel. You could get out of the doghouse by booking a nice room at the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City.

1:55 One really nice thing about my Model Y: CAMP MODE! On a trip last June, I rented a room at a "cheap" motel near an event I was to attend the next day. The room was by no means the worst I ever stayed at (that was the Cherokee Motel in Chattanooga, TN a few decades ago), but after seeing the room, I decided to sleep in the car. Even as just a place to shower and uh, be biological, the room was questionable, as the toilet rocked, the shower curtain had holes and the fluorescent light in the bathroom was so dim that the first time I flipped the switch to turn it on, the room got darker -- yep, it had already been on -- fooled me. Anyway, since I was traveling alone and had all the shades and things and Tesla's Premium Connectivity, spending the night out in my car worked wonderfully.

19:49 launch-and-stop: I seldom get in this situation (stop&go on the interstate), but when I do, Perl (2023 MY LR AWD) disappoints me with very lurchy startups and hard braking. Its annoying on dry pavement, it is a little scary on wet pavement. Last time I got in this situation was coming back south from Marion, IL after watching the eclipse (Monday, April 8th). Long stretches of stop-and-go until I got to I-65, after which it was smooth sailing. I think I was on FSD 12.3.2.1 or maybe 23.3.6 at the time, not sure, so it isn't just TACC with Autopilot, even FSD was being a jerk. I'm absolutely confident the Tesla FSD team will get this corrected.

I like your Bucee’s hoodie! Dave, did you get the Bucees stuffed animal you wanted? We stopped at Bucees for the first time in Calhoun, GA. The Supercharger was amazingly fast. I had the fried chicken sandwich which tasted great. The place was extremely busy inside but the Supercharger was only 80% full. Also they were offering free car wash there.

A rental M3 on chill worked fine in traffic for me and I don't own an EV.

12.3.6 FSD is not good at acceleration (speeding up or slowing down). In stop and go traffic, it slammed HARD on the brakes because it sped up too much when clearly the cars ahead were still stopped.

I think anyone whom is using FSD would be thrilled to at least have such amazing software and would be patient while they work out the kinks. They use individual driver stats from the cars on the road to improve the software. There is no other way to improve without adopters of the systems to find out the issues of the software and what better way with worldwide users. Buying a Tesla makes an owner an investor into the products that Tesla produces…you are helping them create better future version of their cars and software.

Happy Sunday Dave. I wondered from the last video how staying in Lumberton would be. Florence or Fayetteville are better choices to stay at and they have some rough exits. Also here in Alamance county NC we are starting to build a Buc’ees off I85-I40. Maybe in a year once it is complete you could make trip down I-85 instead of I-95. Great video as always.

Dave, I absolutely love you, but your food choices and snacking are awful. I had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, and cancer in my family, I've seen it. And you're on the way to follow in their steps. Please look into Insulin Resistance, Keto, Carnivore, and Intermittent Fasting. I was a food addict. I would eat so much and there was nothing that stopped me. Keto & fasting made my hunger go away. I couldn't believe it. ❤ Make America Healthy Again ❤
