I was told that even the EV battery goes down to 0%, it could still travel another short distance of 2-3 miles! I don't know if it's true or not, but it would be great. Anyway last month, they updated the software of my VF8 Plus, and it's been great so far. It's smooth and comfortable. It's always fun to drive an EV like VF8 Plus powered by a 400-horsepower electric powertrain with all-wheel drive. I just checked Vinfast website and it's offering the similar promotion of $239/month to lease a VF8 this summer.

Hi Francie - 6.5 years ago, I had my Bolt for less than 1 day, and during those few hours, I came extremely close to bricking it in a Michigan snowstorm. Fortunately a Mitsubishi car dealership (that we found on Plugshare) had a L2 charger available to the public, so I was able to get enough charge in the car to make it to a fast charger 30+ miles away, on a day that we NEEDED to have some heat in the car to keep the windows from fogging up (family of 4 in the car). I survived that, plus 1 or 2 other close calls, and still enjoy my Bolt 100k miles later. EVs are a blast!

Hi Francie, Wichita Area Resident here... About .25 miles north of the Vinfast dealer there is WB Harrison Park with a Dog Park- it does require crossing Harry St which is busy most times of the day. If Vinfast gives you a loaner, you can also go to the downtown area along the Arkansas River.... There are good paved trails there. Best parking place is probably at Exploration Place. Coffee shops? There are plenty. Reverie on East Douglas near the College Hill area is probably one the best in Wichita. But there's also R Coffeehouse in the Riverside Neighborhood and Mokas near Exploration Place.

You are so fortunate the readings are fairly accurate. Not so on the Leaf Guess-o-meter. I made a wrong turn and ended on freeway north with 28 miles on the readout. The next town was 20 miles away. By the time I got to the first exit, where I got off, the readouts were blank, which meant I was almost to turtle mode. By the time I got to an EA charging station I had been on turtle mode for a while. The single Chademo station was unavailable. I had to get towed to another charging station. I forgot to use the GPS to keep from making a wrong turn. Another time the station where I usually charge was full, so I kept on going and ended up at my destination on turtle mode. Towed again. There's nothing like going 27 mph in a 40 mph speed zone.

You should do a 70 mph range test at your altitude (or even close to sea level if you are close enough and THEN do it in Colorado - could provide a correction factor for range testing at altitude if it is done with a few of the same vehicles in both places.
@YeOldeTraveller5 ай бұрын
You could compare the range Tom of State of Charge gets in NJ with the the range that they get in CO/WY/NE. However, there are significant differences in the terrain, traffic, and weather that I am not sure how useful a single test would be. I would expect a significant overlap in test data if a series of tests were made in each location. Not saying it would not be interesting or useful, just that getting a good number will require a significant effort.
@adamchalom38725 ай бұрын
Fair points. The advantage of this would be that it is the same vehicle within a close timeframe (ie minimal battery degradation change). The usual range tests are single tests rather than a series anyways.

The Renault Scenic e-tech SUV has just been named "Car of the Year 2024", with a retail price of €36,000. Meanwhile, the price of the VF8 is USD 50,000. Vinfast is looking for ways to openly rip off consumers, while the VF8's spare parts come from China and the car is assembled in Vietnam for a pittance. The car is not well designed, so it is very heavy (2500kg) and consumes a lot of electricity. Not to mention that it is manufactured and assembled in China and Vietnam, two countries whose electricity comes from coal, which is very harmful to the environment. Currently, Vinfast's share price has fallen below USD 3 and the company has a loss of 2.4 billion plus the previous debt of 8.2 billion, so we don't know how long it will exist. In short, VF8 is a disaster for users and the environment.

@@sonnguyenba1709 I'm here to expose the lies so that garbage can find its rightful place in the garbage can. According to Frandroid " The electric VF8 is the target of an investigation in the United States following a serious accident that claimed the lives of a family of four. The cause: faulty driving aids. But in addition to this dramatic accident, more than 11 complaints have already been lodged against the company due to similar concerns, where the car abruptly changed trajectory. That's not all, as other owners have also reported anti-collision system failures, while some have indicated problems with semi-autonomous driving. One motorist saw his vehicle hit traffic cones at night on a freeway. I suggest you take your lies elsewhere.
