I have a dash cam and I am glad that I did. I had someone reverse into my front bumper trying to collect insurance money. Once the police was called and I showed the cops the dash cam it all over for the other driver.

Also do talk about internal power more if it’s battery based or capacitor based. I went through 3 Chinese versions before I got my Cobra dual cam setup. The Florida heat cooks them so they need quality internals.

In states like Florida they should totally cover parking lots with solar panels. It would keep cars cooler and charge them at the same time.

I like the size and that's about it... My current dashcam is slightly bigger and has it's own screen. It also records front and back at the same time which is convenient if you get rear ended or harassed by cops....also, it has an SD card slot for up to 1tb...overall, not a bad investment for $80...i would recommend a dual cam dash as opposed to just 1 direction if you can get one.

You could always get something like a ZeroLemon power bank and plug it in via USB so it gets power without hardwiring.

I am currently using a Nexar Beam dashcam...its 1080p but it cannot read license plates even when they are fairly close. I had an incident where i needed to prove the plate number but was unable to. Can you shed some light on how well the camera can detect clear images of the license plate?

Don’t expect to read license plates across the road, not going to happen. 4K cams will read plates within a few feet.

I have a vehicle with an android 10.1 screen. I was able to connect a dash cam via the type c cable. It automatically opens when the car is started. I have a 1986 Trans Am that I put the same radio. I want the camera to connect to the radio when in the car. I use my phones mobile hotspot to connect the radio to the internet. Any ideas if that's possible? The radio has Android 11 and is exactly like a phones operating system.
