Whaaat, running the Cabaret club in the Yakuza series ist the best part! What better feeling is there to turn a shabby club with a bronze team into a S tier club decked out with platinum hostesses who I have meticulously styled for the best stats. To me, this is the gwent of Yakuza
@wisewolftony3 жыл бұрын
Honestly if they were gonna take anything from the Yakuza series of games they should have replaced the tailing segments in LA Noire and instead put Judgment on the list for it's tailing segments. As there are so many in that game honestly not sure how many are in the actually main missions or if it just felt like there was a shit ton of them because I was doing all of the side cases. But man did I get sick of them after awhile. I mean I get it that is a part of the job of being a PI. But still doesn't change the fact that they were boring. Was just literally hide behind something wait walk hide behind something wait walk and repeat until it's over. At least with the other mini game things like the chasing segments you at least had to be engaged with it and hit the button promps at the right time so it didn't feel boring.

Yeah, honestly the Cabaret club segments were great. If they wanted to take anything from 0, how about the weird car shooting segment at the end that is an absolute ballache on Legend.

The dramatic organized crime and punching segments would not be nearly as interesting if they were not interspersed with sequences where I pretend to know how to produce a tv show, funnel billions from my property management enterprise into defeating children at slot cars, and learn how to become a master of bowling in order to recruit a chicken who I will employ as manager of several of my businesses.

@shawnfields23693 жыл бұрын
@@gorimbaud It runs in his bloodline? I mean, I have played Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, and i thought it was great, not as good as the previous Ace Attorney games, but still earns the right to be an Ace Attorney game. Plus, his sister Trucy, can also see it, as can their mother, the famous pop diva, Lamiroir. And also, Phoenix Wright can sense their ability too. Maybe because he's still got the Magatama Maya gave him all those years ago... and now Apollo is Nick's apprentice. The first Apollo Justice Ace Attorney game is great, but a bit too short, and some parts make the game aggravating to play through again. Like the 3rd episode, with Romein Letuse's death at the Gavinner's concert, and trying to use the bracelet to try and figure out how to see through Lamiroir and the little piano boy's lies as a team, is just annoying. It's not done as well as the Psyche-Locks from Justice For All and Trials & Tribulations, but even then, it was done WAAAY too often in both games, and the confusing backtracking between both for the psyche-locks quickly became a massive pain in the ass. We all like Maya, but the Magatama and the Psyche-Lock thing can go to hell. The story's still fun and engaging though using the Magatama and going through the Psyche-Locks are some of the worst parts I always dread whenever i revisit the games on my 3DS. That being said, I love the Ace Attorney series. Nothing to add there, I just love this series.
@gorimbaud3 жыл бұрын
@@shawnfields2369 We know that Phoenix still has the Magatama, since he uses it extensively in the fourth case. In fact, I'm pretty sure the part I always get stuck on whenever I replay is remembering the order you need to break various Psyche-Locks in that investigation. There was a second bracelet, you see Thalassa wearing it after she drops the Lamiroir disguise, so I imagine she's even more capable of Perceiving than Apollo, especially since she had her dad, Magnifi Gramarye, to teach her directly. She probably used both bracelets before she left one with Apollo, and I have no doubt Trucy'd be just as capable of learning if she had one. AJ's actually one of my favorite games in the series (GAA is currently contending with it for top spot, but I still need to finish it the second one), and I like to revisit it regularly. You can really tell that it was actually designed with the DS in mind instead of just ported from GBA.
@shawnfields23693 жыл бұрын
@@gorimbaud Yeah, I always forget that part in the 4th case. Turnabout Succession. I know, Lamiroir has 2 bracelets. I'm replaying through the 3rd case again, currently on the 3DS. I'm probably the only guy who still even owns a 3DSXXL. Because I have no way to download the games. Because where I live, the internet sucks. We literally have no wifi or computer. So I just use my phone. Not much better. I don't like the Psyche-Locks very much, but I hate how they didn't bring back Maya for this game, or show us how what happened after Nick got fired for accidentally presenting falsified evidence. I know she comes back in the game after this one, after Nick becomes a lawyer again, and regains his badge. And gets a stylish new suit, and a little spiky fringe to his already sweet hair. And Maya comes back in the Ace Attorney vs. Professor Layton crossover that nobody but me enjoys, apparently. Yeah, I agree. Definitely felt the effort put into later Ace Attorney games, and that they were all designed with the later handhelds in mind, not just ports of the original GBA games, moved from the GBA to the DS. But that being said, I don't have any way to download the games... so when my 3DS dies, I'll be s**t out of luck to be able to play my DS games. But I'm glad they're still hanging in there for the time being. I just wish I could play the latest Ace Attorney game too... and the ones before that. Huge Ace Attorney fan. I mean, Ace Attorney JUST celebrated it's 20th anniversary. While I'm a little sad Phoenix Wright didn't get into Smash Ultimate, I am super glad Sora did though. I love the Kingdom Hearts series too. I hope there's more Apollo Justice games in the future, and more Miles Edgeworth games too. The first one was kind of weak, but I liked it. I keep hearing how incredible the 2nd Edgeworth game is. And how it sucks that we never got it. Hey, as a HUGE Ace Attorney fan, I'm genuinely pissed not getting ANY Ace Attorney game. Still a bit pissed about not getting the Ace Attorney anime, too. But I've read the Ace Attorney manga. It's pretty good. Any chance I get to revisit the Ace Attorney series, I'll gladly take. Just recently revisited the Ace Attorney trilogy, and now I'm on the AJ game's 3rd case. After that, I'm planning on beating the game again, and then ending my revisit with the Edgeworth game.

It plays SO perfectly into the narrative of Majima as actually secretly good boss and supporter of his female employees. It's such a rewarding way to engage deeper in his character and in understanding how he gets to be who he is later in the time line. I was so invested in the stories of the women working in his night club. Also, it's a pretty fun simulation and a lot better than the versions of it that existed in previous entries to the series. It ALSO is completely in-line with the Yakuza approach to mini games. One could really argue that the whole franchise is 80% mini game tied together with visually entertaining beat em up. But I still tried to 100% the game anyways, and while i did almost get the trophies for completing pocket racing, I can't do it. I'm sorry Yakuza 0. Still an amazing game in every way. Especially the story and the way that an entire small patch of land can tie into so many other games. Like how that one small piece of land is actually the place where the finale of the original Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku game takes place, The Millennium Tower, where Kiryu had a shirtless fist fight with waves of gangsters, in order to rescue Haruka, and destroys the main bad guy's getaway helicopter. And getting beaten, bloodied and brutally injured on the rooftop of the Millennium Tower, which is one of the best moments in the entire series, and one of the most badass things Kiryu has ever done, and shows us how far he's willing to go to protect and rescue Haruka, no matter what. All because of the Empty Lot eventually being used to help create the Millennium Tower. An amazingly well done way to tie the plot of 0 into other future Yakuza games. Even though I know it's a prequel, and supposed to tie into the future games, but still. It's HOW they do it in this one game that made me a HUGE Yakuza fan and want to check out the other games in the series. From Kiwami, to The Song Of Life, to Like A Dragon. Which are all amazingly done games and perfect in every detail, just like 0 was. Now if only all those games were somehow released on the Switch too... imagine, handheld Yakuza games, the 5 best Yakuza games: "Yakuza 0", "Yakuza Kiwami", "Yakuza Kiwami 2", "Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life", and "Yakuza: Like A Dragon", all in ONE place, one collection, all on the Switch, so you could play them, anywhere, anytime at all...

But yeah; I really didn't like any of the mini-games in the Yakuza remakes. But other than those slight inconveniences, the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku franchise was pretty much perfect everywhere else, like perfectly memorable characters, who were perfectly written and voice acted in the remakes. I just despised the annoying toy car racing minigame. Because you have to at least win at the race, at least ONCE; but it's next to impossible to get right. I nearly rage quit the entire game and the series because of that minigame. Broke my controller, had to wait for a new one, STILL couldn't get past the minigame. Sure; I eventually beat Yakuza 0, and to this day, I still love the Yakuza series, and have played nearly every remake, except "Kiwami 2", and; i wanted to play through "Yakuza: Like A Dragon", but my ps4 finally broke, along with my TV, which just stopped working, and for the last 2 years; my old ps4 and my entire library of ps4 games, alongside my old collection of dvds, and anime collections, are all now defunct, and the ps4 has been officially declared dead and gone, as are my ps4 games; the movie's, my anime collections, and just everything I have to do with it, and now, I moved on to the Switch instead, and who knows? Maybe, just maybe, hopefully somday, some of those old ps4 games will get Switch remakes. I mean; we already got a port of "Persona 5 Royal" on the Switch, and it's even got a sequel, "Persona 5 Strikers". And the last ps4 game I played was either the "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" game, or "Yakuza: Like A Dragon", both of which are great games; that I'm glad got PS5 ports. Because Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, and I love the Yakuza franchise still deciding to go on, even without Kazuma Kiryu, or Goro Majima, or even Haruka. But the series was still fun to go through. Same with the 2 Spider-Man games, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales had great games, and have had great movies too. So I'm glad to have played those games; and I sincerely hope that everyone else can enjoy the Spider-Man and Yakuza series from the PS4 to the PS5; and maybe someday, we'll see either a remake or a port of some of the PS4/PS5 libraries, to the Switch. We did get games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Resident Evil 4 on the Switch, and then, there's the new RE4 Remake coming out soon, too. Can't wait for that, because I love RE4(the original version, on the GameCube), and Leon's my favorite RE protagonist too. So, glad to finally have a Remake of it, after waiting for like, nearly 20+ years, for something more than just the numerous ports of RE4, even though I do love the RE series. Whoops, sorry, went off-track there. My bad. Anyway, thanks again.

I'd play that, too, BUT only if there were a story involving both Majima and Haruka(Kiryu's adopted daughter), being in it, and you play as Majima, running around town, recruiting girls, and secretly helping stop a secret underground club that's trying to stop Majima, and it gets deeper and deeper as the story progresses, because it's a game in the Yakuza series, which are ALWAYS deep and rich in story, and gameplay. Even if it's just a side story, It's still THE Goro Majima, dammit! And you treat his character with respect. The same way he treats the women at his establishment. But not the same way he reacts whenever he sees Kiryu... because(in case you didn't know already) he basically turns into Japanese Joker and loses his s**t. Seriously. And the game's set after the events of Like A Dragon, the latest installment of the Yakuza series. But it's still a story about Majima running a cabaret club, and the girls in the club who are all established characters, with their own charm, personalities, quirks, and deep emotional backstories and interpersonal relationships with certain characters who show up at said club. And Majima can expand his club's reach to grow more and more, until it becomes THE defining club in ALL of Kamurocho. And also, you can sing karaoke in the game too, as either Majima, or any of the girls, or with them. Because this is still a game set in the Yakuza series, it's got to be deep with emotion and story, and bittersweet and sad moments too. It can't just be a half-assed, lazy attempt here. This is still the Yakzua universe here, and as such, fans of the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series(myself included),will NOT accept any laziness on your part, Sega! But the pocket racing minigame totally blows sometimes, but maybe I'm only saying that because I sucked at it. I wanted to like it though. I wanted to 100% the entirety of Yakuza 0. That was the game that made me want to go and play more of the series and 100% all of them. But sadly, my PS4 broke, so it's now impossible for me. But as a Yakuza fan, I'd still be happy if the game came out someday. But I'd still wish it were on the Switch too... also, sorry about this long comment, dude/lady. I just really love this series.

When I saw the RE4 puzzle on here, I was reminded of the sliding puzzle from Onimusha 1 when Samanosuke was stuck in the room filling with water. You were Kaede, and it wasn't apparent right away that you had to do a puzzle. And when you got to the puzzle, the timer made the experience more stressful. The puzzle itself is fairly easy, but the time limit made the tiny section flat-out infuriating
@GrieverSSBU2 жыл бұрын
This is the correct answer. Literally a piss easy puzzle that becomes far more difficult due to the fact that the nearest checkpoint is quite a few rooms and puzzles away and the timer that actively makes you suck at doing puzzles.

So at least she's got the intelligence not to run in the line of fire in the middle of battle.
@shawnfields23693 жыл бұрын
@@kyuubinaruto17 Oh, I know, all that, but I was just joking too. But see, I'm really bad at it. I know, she can be annoying sometimes, but Ashley doesn't really bother me as much either. It's just her voice really. But she is at least good at listening to Lovely Leon, and good with heavy machinery, so she's not entirely useless. But to be fair, she is just a normal human being, who doesn't have any kind of special government training like Leon, and she was kidnapped by Krauser, and didn't ask to be there. So her reactions to what's happening around her, are pretty standard to how most of us would probably react to what's happening. Especially when some random villagers head just explodes and some disgusting bug thing just pops out, or some cultists are whispering things and laughing maniacally, and coming towards you, and then, their heads just randomly explode and bugs come out of them too. So yeah, Ashley can be annoying, but she's a normal human, who doesn't have special training, is in fear of being assaulted or kidnapped constantly, so her screaming for help makes sense. Yeah, good points though. She does have some common sense. Smart enough to know not to stand directly in front of Leon's guns, can handle heavy machinery, can occasionally suplex those creepy whispering cultist a-holes, during Ashley's Puzzle Funtime, and proves herself at least a little. All you have to do is give her a slight chance. Like by increasing her health with Yellow + Green Herbs, smartly using the "Stay" and "Follow" commands, and the knight armor. So with all that, she's like, maybe 70% likable? That's like a C+ or something. But to be fair although she's probably the least liked female character in the RE series, she's got to compete with the likes of Claire, Sherry, Jill, Sheva, Rebecca, and Ada. I guess I've just been watching too much of Yuriofwind or SomecallmeJohnny's takes on Ashley, and they rubbed off on me. Although they both make hilarious videos. Why does Ashley never get any love? I've never come across a better escort mission in all my years gaming. You can tell her where to stop, multiple areas let you hide her from danger altogether, she tells you when she's in danger, she gets out of the way of your attacks in you aim them in her direction, at one point she'll be standing right behind you and do a cute little fist bump when you get enemy kills, she can drive and operate heavy machinery, she can help you get a free magnum. There are far worse characters in resident evil. I really like Ashley. Also, that moving tile puzzle is incredibly easy. It's not randomized, the answer is the same every time, and you can move multiple tiles at once...
@DavidRBrown73 жыл бұрын
I very much agree with the theme of this video: the terrible heart-wrenching idea that you may be stuck in a game because of a unskipable mini-game you are struggling with. However . . . Having recently finished Resident Evil 4 for the first time, that mini-game with the picture puzzle was hardly the thing that made me struggle... aim the bloody gun was much much harder. Also, I loved and played all the Yakuza games and there is a much worse minigame. In Yakuza 3 there were race battles where you either had to run away from or catch some baddy. It was the fist Yakuza game I played and it was almost my last because of the amount of time I was stuck due to a story based race battle.

I can't believe Andy slandered that cabaret club mini-game. That was the best mini-game in Yakuza 0! And only a passing mention of Kiryu's terrible real estate mini-game, the real travesty of that game!

The real estate mini game would have been drastically improved by letting you manage your properties at any phone rather than having to go back into the office each time you wanted to do anything with it.

I've only played Like a Dragon all the way through, and I really liked the business management minigame. Once you figure it out, it's a cakewalk. But without a guide, it seems like its really complex and confusing. But it's definitely irritating to have to walk back to the office every time.

Chrono Trigger : Run around the room 3 times, that all it ask but it sometimes has problems detecting that you have done this. Back in the day if no one told you, you didn't know that you should walk real slow pressing hard against the walls all three times, and this took way longer than it should have.

Blitzball was a strange one, I hated it at first but when I started putting time into it and actually going around and hiring people for my squad it actually becomes really fun, and the mandatory blitzball matches are simple as hell if you have a good squad and have competed in the other matches and tournaments etc. I think it’s just something that starts off really difficult and the AI can be stupid sometimes. Really though, it becomes a lot easier.

I can see why these aren’t on here, since they aren’t really minigames, but I still feel like one of the Pokémon gym puzzles could have been on here. And if those aren’t obnoxious enough, there’s also the ninja house from paper mario : the origami king

Most of the ones outside of Kanto aren't as obnoxiously bad as the ones on the list, though. However, Lt. Surge and Koga can suck it

@@aardbei54 I COMPLETELY agree. F**k Lt. Surge and Koga. I hate surge with his stupid random trashcan switch finding and matching bs, and Koga with his invisible wall bs too. The 2 worst gyms in Pokemon history. Plus, in the Pokemon manga, both Lt. Surge and Koga are revealed to be PART of the original Team Rocket! So that might explain why they have the 2 worst gyms in Kanto, and just generally in Pokemon's history. Now with that being said, Lt. Surge, and Koga, we only got 2... words... for ya! SUCK IT!! @@KirbyatYT No, not really. Everyone's got different experiences with Lt. Surge's gym. And you played "Let's Go, Eevee", and not "Let's Go, Pikachu", dude/lady? Well, Surge and Koga are both secret members of the criminal organization known as Team Rocket.Most of the Kanto gym leaders are secret Team Rocket agents. Sabrina, Koga, Lt. Surge, Giovanni, and I think Blaine? But not Misty, or Brock, or Erica, I believe. Which probably explains why most of the Kanto gyms and their leaders are annoying as hell...

@@caiholroyd178 aww I like the comic book thing - it's not like you're drawing one, you're just piecing the narrative together. I feel like the deductive stuff is more involved than like the Ace Attorney series, but some of the arcade minigames are pretty damn filler bs

In Dark Cloud 2 there was a golf mini game that you had to do once, then you could choose to do it for each map to get some great prizes. Some of the areas were great to play golf in, wide open terrain, few obstacles, and not many places to get the dreaded "off course". But then there was the channels under the first town where it was "off course" so many times that I started reading it as "of course". That area had short corridors, random angles on the walls to bounce off of, and along every wall there was a water hazard that was, sometimes, impossible not to fall into.

Andy's fashion sense checks out. Dressing like a vampire lord is a power play in any situation. That said, I understand most prosecutors favor a more understated gold braid on their capes and cloaks, rather than epaulets. Maybe the long fringe is more of a Japanese legal tradition.

The Cabaret Club minigame is literally the place I dropped Zero. I was loving it up until that point, but I did the Real Estate minigame, which was a grind, but really simple. Plug money into buildings, fight boss, profit. With the Cabaret Club, it was reliant on whether you did all the sidequests or not, and unlike say Judgment or Like A Dragon, those subquests weren't always on the map so it was easy to miss them. Which, if you missed them, you didn't get the best hostesses and it's hard to beat the bosses in Cabaret battles. I didn't want to skip it and move on with the story because completing both minigames is how you unlocked both Kiryu and Majima's ultimate fighting styles, so I just ended up dropping it altogether.
