If there's one thing we know about the internet, it's that everyone has an opinion. Game developers also know that all too well because every time they release a game, there's always going to be some haters complaining. What happens, though, when the developers clap back? Here are seven times games absolutely roasted their haters, enjoy and subscribe for more videos like this from Outside Xbox!

I love how he complains about not having any choices in a game that's all about making choices. Did he just follow the narrator's instructions the whole way through and assume that was all there was? Or perhaps he was upset he couldn't dash around like a ninja while mowing down hordes of zombies to save a princess in a bikini or something. Either way, a prime example of a very logical and rational person, clearly.

The Byleth trailer had two pretty great jokes in it. First, when the lady says “too many swordsmen?”, Byleth is immediately shown in their alternate costume as the female character option. OK, so true story about Samurai pizza cats. In my country, the studio got all the show's episodes, but not the translation to the script. So they had a show but didn't understand a word that was said. To make this work, they haired a bunch of local comedians and told them to improvise what the characters were saying by just watching the show. It ended up a local cult classic with people from the 80s-90s still quoting, this crazy as hell translation.

If you act like a fucking asshole and just be like "this game is bad cause of this this an that".... You are ASKING to be made fun of, you DO NOT need the shitty attitude. There's so many ways to not look like an entitled asshole. Like saying "I'm honestly not trying to just shit on the game, these are just some things that in my view could be improved upon". Good criticism has 2 sides, to show the goods parts and acknowledge them and explain how the bad parts could be improved. Not acknowledging any good parts is just criticism

You missed a couple big jokes in the Byleth reveal. Byleth responded to "what will you do" about the criticism that there were too many "anime swords*men*" by becoming a woman, the female version of the same player character. And the goddess Byleth was speaking to rewarded their witty comeback by providing them with three more *non-sword* weapons, an axe, a bow, and a lance. So now, between those weapons and the sword also being a whip, the majority of Byleth's moves are not sword strikes.

Unfortunately the aesthetics weren't the issue with that game. I hate the common practice of taking great RPGs and dumbing them down. Elder Scrolls from 3-5 is insanely different, losing so much of what made it a roleplaying game. Mass Effect taking away most abilities, all weapon and armor upgrades was disappointing and then Diablo 3...you have the exact same attacks, just a small modification instead of building a character the way you desire. Diablo 2 my druid was a summoner/Were. I rarely used elemental attacks, if ever because I had strong summons and my Were forms were strong. I'm betting it's gonna be the same shit for 4. We're gonna be given the same 5 or 6 abilities with a minor mod tacked on. Otherwise all builds are precisely the same

What's even more interesting, is the entire comment breaks down the issue across multiple titles before explaining the differences between 2 and 3. They water down the rpg mechanics to appeal to the braindead masses. The crybabies who said Mass Effect was "over complicated with too much menu", so we lost a ton of ability options, armor options, armor upgrades and all weapon upgrades. They had to snuff out the complicated rpg mechanics to appease the smooth brains who can't be bothered to do more than depress the trigger. This is a common theme across the business, where a bunch of spectrum riders come together and decide something is just too hard for them and must be washed away...cleansed of what makes them think. Link has a bit of a back slash and gets into dash slightly quicker then most perfect for Kirby hunting (a lot of hours fighting a friend who loves Kirby) in the original game, since then I have played every game except melee and learned to use basically every character. @evanvongustav8814 Жыл бұрын
One of the reasons the meme exists as the review score is lower than the original because of an issue that also existed in the original. Also, the "3 hms argument" is a nonstarter. Gen II had Waterfall, Whirlpool, and Surf. Also, Surf is like, high end TM tier, its literally water type Ice Beam that is and AoE in doubles but has no secondary effect. So, like, you aren't "forced" to use surf, unless you run physical water in the remakes, but in that case, you'd want to be running waterfall in all likelihood. So you're really only "forced" into 2 HMs, because one of them is actually useful no matter where you go. Furthermore, you rarely require Dive to to anywhere, you rarely require Waterfall, and you never need both of them TMK. Lastly, the most "tedious part of the game" used to be locked into walking speed back in Gen III Now its as fast as Running at its slowest, and depending on which pokemon you teach Surf to, as fast as the Mach Bike (Sharpedo and iirc 1 other Pokemon are this fast) Basically, the problem already had all the flaws it has in ORAS back in RSE, but with 1 "minor" improvement, and the reviewer docked the game enough points to give it a lower score than the original RS based on the one issue they didn't fix. TLDR: That's why 7.8 was a meme, the one problem the reviewer had wasn't as bad as the OG, they thought the game was an overall improvement over the originals, which were given a score in the mid 8.0's. Basically even people who thought 7.8 was a fair score in a vacuum, or who agreed with the criticism just found it amusing that the review score was lower.

@Evan Von Gustav Just the lack of awareness to think that a Craig Harris issued 9.5 from 2003 should have any bearing on a modern review.... God. I wish I were still that young. ORAS are GOOD (7 on the IGN scale is good) games, based on games that were amazing... in their day. But that day had long since passed. What was new and exciting in 2003 became familiar and quaint by 2014. What was annoying became intolerable. But if you want to insist that past scores should have weight on future scores, consider that IGN has changed from a 100-point scale to 10 between the oras review and now. ORAS would be rounded up to the same 8 score as BDSP today, and I'd be willing to wager that BDSP would have received a high 7... maybe 7.8, if the reviewer would have had more scale to work with.
