God has a mission for each one of us and it can change. Maybe God is using you to help people get through these troubling times with the recession. When I had my daughters it was tough because my hubby was in college. That was 30 yrs ago and I learned how to wash cloth diapers. It was like God was preparing me for something and it came to good use because I was able to teach that skill to a woman so she was able to be a stay at home mom. I will always spend time listening to God!

Tessie, maybe I'm saying this wrong, but please don't be so hard on yourself. I DON'T CARE if your home is a mobile home. It is beautiful with a beautiful setting. You and your family have worked very hard to renovate it. Your KZbin channel IS a way of making an honest living. I wish people would wake up and realize it is a legitimate form of self employment. You can't just wave a magic wand and make those videos come to life the way you do. It takes planning and work. I believe the Lord talked to me today also. I started decluttering my spare bedroom and making it more livable. I have a couple of single friends like myself who are getting in worse and worse financial trouble because of the economy. If they get kicked out of their apartments, I'm going to offer to take them in. My family was there with a safety net when my marriage blew up in my face. The Lord is telling me I need to return the favor.

I work with the public, and have become aware over the last several years (since coronavirus and the faltering economy) that I have it better than certain other senior citizens. The Lord has been talking to me about that issue this week also. I've felt at times that other people view me as someone who "can't stand on their own two feet" because I live on the family homeplace (although I bought it free and clear when my mother died - a lot of expensive repairs have been made since then). I think the Lord is showing me to think of helping others instead of wasting time worrying about stupid stuff like that.

2020 I was pregnant and lost my job. My husband said to be careful with money but I can be a stay at home mom and take care of our 7 year old. Because of people like you I have learned to better myself and find cheaper ways to live. Because this helped me gain self esteem and we broke away from narcissistic family who tried to make us feel we couldn’t do anything without them. Keep doing what you are doing and thank you.

Hey, Tessie 🍁🌻🧡. One of my sons shared something with me this morning, that I will never forget! When my daughter was dying with cancer, they were talking about the situation. He was saying why couldn’t it be some horrible person instead of her. She looked at him and said, who are you to question God’s plan for my life? That brought me to tears and took my breath away ❤. Honey, you don’t need to defend yourself or explain yourself to anyone. The Holy Spirit will lead the ones to you. You will plant seeds, or water seeds already planted. He brings the harvest ❤. We have a barrel for water , and a saw dust toilet, but we have a watertight roof, and and a pair of wool socks each , and no rats . We canned the whole summer, inspired by you, and now we have food for the winter...thank you tesse for teaching us that it is possible to not fall into a funk, even when we have very little.

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. I had surgery and the cancer was removed, no chemo no radiation. Anesthesia is a problem for me and though I should have gone home the same day, I ended up in ICU due to the anesthesia. I tend to vomit for weeks afterward, so I was prescribed a scopolamine patch. It worked. Fast forward 3 mos. My healthy son (21) a USMC Corporal came down with a rare orphan disease. All patients die within 5 yrs. It includes vomiting 30 times a day, loss of protein thru the stomach. He was in Walter Reid Hospital for 2 mos, He coded 2 times, started bleeding out in ICU, got blood clots in his lungs. Everyday I thanked G.od for this one more day. He went thru 2 courses of a killer kind of chemo. What made the difference after every medicine and medical treatment including a J-tube for feeding was that they prescribed the Scopolamine patch, I suggested. It was NOT an accepted medicine for treatment of Menetriers disease at that time. The only way I could get the doctors to prescribe it was after the J-tube surgery. Immediately, after applying the patch his 30 times a day vomiting and horrific pain went to vomiting 🤮 3 times a day and eventually down to intermittent over several days. The Drs were in touch with other specialists across America to help him. Now it is on the list of treatment protocols for Menetriers. He is still alive today, 2022. I accept no credit, it was clearly G.ods plan to work thru me (my cancer surgery), to save my son and extend the lives of anyone who gets Menetriers. I did not know my cancer diagnosis and surgery would later save my son, but it did. Thank you, Lord!

Tessie I am thankful for your attitude. I raised 7 kids in a 1200 ft double wide Mobil home. We worked 3 jobs. We now after all these years live in a manufactured home that is about 20 years old. But we bought it new. We are out of debt. Our car is 10 years old. And we love the retired life we live. Our kids all graduated or are graduating from. College. Are employed. Are good people. We have 29 grandchildren who we are very proud of. We have a blessed life I don’t think you see the world with rose colored glasses. I think you see life with an attitude of gratitude.

Most people who say the struggle is real have no idea how real it can get. I am broke broke, disable and live off of 798 a month Canadian. We don't always get to choose what happens... we 100% get to choose how to take it. Things have changed around here. I had to give up my old van because I could no longer afford insurance and maintenance. I have food and full freezers and shelter. I am okay... but it is so important to use your situation to help others. I run a tiny fb group that shall not be named because it only helps locals find the best deals on groceries and other items. I believe I was made this way for a reason.

@@debbieframpton3857 My dad was only getting about $600 a month from Social Security. He lost the home he inherited from my granny because they raised the taxes from $600 a year to $1200 to $1800 over the course of about 5 years and he couldn’t afford it anymore. If it had happened this year, I could have paid them for him and saved the home that should have one day become mine, and the only place on earth I feel truly at home. Now it belongs to someone else and I will never see it again because it happened when my own income was too low to help. That’s what I call puny. Not even to even account for an increase in property taxes. Granted, it was a HUGE increase in taxes, but everyone on earth has issues like this crop up from time to time, and $600 a month is barely enough to live on if you have a paid-off home like he did, but it’s certainly not enough to allow savings for emergencies. 😢

You know Tessie I'm 62 years old and I raised three children I have one grandchild I've done many things in my life and had many jobs that were really quite interesting.. but now I am in a place where God is showing me that I have purpose even when I don't have a flashy career or something interesting that I'm doing in the world.. sometimes our purpose is to do something for many people or sometimes our purpose is to do something for just one person.. and our purpose definitely has nothing to do with our material possessions. I see a lot of instagrammers and KZbinrs who have made literally millions of dollars by portraying a perfect life with clever photography and amazing editing.. to be honest they're such a turn-off.. what people need in the world right now is a friend and what people need in the world right now is encouragement and the understanding that they are not alone and that's exactly what you provide. So when I have my choice about the 20 something who lives in a van doesn't do anything for a living and makes millions because they have so many subscribers or listening to what you have to say as though you're sitting in my living room as a friend, I pick you ❤️

This is old but such a great video! Thank you for being so open. It’s helpful and healing! My family didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up but then had more as I got older so my younger siblings got financial support and went to college. Something they never offered me. Now they sometimes say judgemental things and it’s so hurtful. In fact as soon as I got out of high school they made me leave home and a few times I tried to come home they said no. I had to survive. They made fun of me for things that were not even right or fair. I rented rooms in homes and they thought that was pathetic. Yet I survived and eventually got my own home. Sometimes we don’t understand the whys….why me? I still don’t make much money. But God loves me! He blesses me! And your words encourage me! Thank you!

Bless you Tessie. You're learning what I started learning after losing my job 3 days after my car died and could not get hired for the first time in my entire life. I missed 33 mortgage payments - but a month after I bought my house and moved in, the Lord told me to get pen and paper and 'take a letter.' He told me that He gave me this house and no one would ever take it from me. He told me to file the 3-page letter so I could retrieve it later. 14 years later when the bottom dropped out of my life, the Lord said, "Go get the letter and read it out loud." I did. He let me keep my house. No matter what - God is still God. Jesus is still Lord. God's Word is still true. He is faithful and He does not lie. You will see this in more ways than you ever have before. When the pain in your heart gets intense, get on your knees and worship Him until the pain goes away. You will experience miracles you never thought possible. You will fall madly in love with Jesus. You are experiencing God is greater, deeper ways as the God He says He is. You are experiencing Jesus in greater deeper ways as the Savior and Lord He says He is. When someone gives you money - invest 10% into His work. Let Him direct you where to send it. It will return when you need it. Keep exalting Him over every need and every discouragement. Nothing will shake you again! You are blessed!

Times are so hard now. I was FaceTiming with my brother and sister in law in the uk yesterday. They were telling me things I could hardly get my head round. The NHS is more like in a 3rd world country now. People in London have stopped calling the police as there aren’t enough to come to crimes. Cheese,meat and chocolate is being security tagged. Everyone has put their plans on hold Tessie. Thanks to you we here are a little better prepared.

Tessie, I watched this video almost right after you posted it, but I had to come back and tell you that in the few short months I have watched your channel, you have encouraged me, made me laugh, and cry, and given me wonderful ideas! Thank you so much for your uplifting videos. The building you live in doesn't matter to me, your heart for God shines through your circumstances, and you are a beautiful child of God! I thought of you today in church when Pastor told us that we need to be joyfully grateful, I'm sorry I didin't write down the verse he was referring to, but you, my long-distance friend, you were right next to me in my heart and my spirit was uplifted knowing that I have a friend to look to who is a wonderful example of the lesson I was hearing. God is definately using you. Keep up the good work!

Mobile home life- low overhead housing-was a huge blessing in 2008/2009 and by the looks of it, low overhead housing is going to be a blessing in the next year as well. My mortgage was so much less than a rental. Mobile homes have their quirks, but it IS a HOUSE. Thank you for sharing and I plan to do my part by watching all your videos and praying God continues to bless you physically/mentally/spiritually and that he uplifts you. Looking fwd to new videos!

Hi Tessie! Just saw your channel for the first time, yesterday. Thank you for your encouraging, open, honest conversation. I am struggling with physical and mental health issues. Medicines for sleep issues( severe insomnia 7 nights a week for a little over 3 1/2 years) have lead me to a place of deep depression. Medicines to help me sleep have stopped working. I found your video yesterday at a very low point in my life. I had given up on my faith in God, was listening to the enemy's lies. Thank you for sharing your flashlight focus on God.

I am blessed to have a good income and it is very steady. The problem is many of my friends and family are having an extra hard time so I am stepping in to help with what extra I am blessed with. So even those of us not losing half our income are still doing without a portion to help others. I am so blessed God has trusted me to be a help to others in need. Bless you Tessie.

I notice you mention living in a mobile home often. There is nothing wrong with that at all! I lived in a mobile home and loved it. Yours is much bigger and it’s nestled in on such a beautiful country corner lot! Yes it may be old but so what? Even houses have issues as they age. We just deal the best we can. Your garden is beyond amazing! You have inspired me more than you will ever know! Your home is clean and cozy and beautiful! I’ve learned so much watching you! Canning, drying herbs, gardening and renewing my faith. by your witness. Our lives parallel so much. I was adopted. I grew up with a Mennonite Mom and Old Order Brethren Dad in Ohio. We had modern conveniences but were plain. I’m most thankful for the foundation of faith they gave me. Tessie, walk out to the road and take in what God has given you. Land, a home, a place for your chickens, a garden. Knowledge to care for yourself in hard times! It’s a beautiful blessing and I know you are thankful! Tessie, I do look forward to seeing your videos all the time. Maybe everyone is just busy right now and will probably binge watch your videos to catch up. I do that often. Especially late at night. Thank you Tessie. Your story is just like mine except I not on youtube. Leaky roof on my mobile home...I put a tarp on the roof.55% less income...I cut out everything including internet in the home. But yet like you, I feel blessed. I have a place to live, I have heat, and I have a bed to sleep in. I have raised beds to grow food and that keeps me happy and going every day. Tessie, I am blessed too and yet I am living on someone else's property in an RV trailer, with Winter temperatures going below zero. No running water but well water and since getting my 1st garden and seven chickens [both are new things for me]; but, since watching you I have increased in my blessings. It is how you look at it... my freezer is full of venison. Yesterday someone gave me a new car [newer] not new.. but, nice on gas; so, I am going to sell my van and hubby can keep his. I'm living out in the country out of town.. which was for my mental health and I'm loving it! I also am blessed and love that you share so much!!! Thank you! P.S. the low tonight will be 6 degrees, do you know how to get the humidity out of the coop? :crazy:

Tess I love your channel. I love your sweet spirit that never fails to pick me up. I love that you truly care about the people on the other side of the screen. So many good folks experiencing hard times. This video comes at a point in my life where I’ve had to downsize greatly and drastically and I’ve been on the edge where my heart doesn’t know whether to see this as a blessing or something negative.
