Why do we Overland???
This video explains the driving force that keeps us so passionate to continue this open ended international overland trip.
It's not about a car, off-road, rock climbing, tourist sites, or must see scenic attractions...
Although these things are very important to us...
It's absolutely all about the people!
It always has and always will be. A country is nothing without the amazing people that make it so special.
In this video we talk about how to turn that overlanding trip into a next level cultural experience, make friends for life and take a special part of every country you visit away with you in your heart.
Join us as we travel the world overland, exploring the cultures and traditions of all the countries we visit.
In our Land Rover Defender camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.
If you think our videos are worth it please become a Patron and support our work, we'd be honoured to have you as part of the team.

As a photojournalist, your comment about "this is not a safari" is right on point. People aren't animals you take pictures to take back home... people are people and you only get as much respect as you are willing to give. Great video.

I grew up in different countries in the world. My Father was in the oil industry. I was very lucky that my parents were very confident and hated doing the tourist thing. It has set me up for loving talking to locals and experiencing their life. It is awesome to see you guys doing the same thing. But I still think it's the Mullet that fascinates the locals for you!

I worked in the oil industry for many years all over the world. Working alongside different cultures is very different to just visiting a country and it taught me a lot. You're right though, in the end it's the mullet that gets the job done 😜🤣

We absolutely agree... We were just chatting between ourselves yesterday about the driver we had on our trip to Sri Lanka, and how he was a big part of what made that trip awesome. We spent 4 days with him and at the end he did us the great honour of inviting us to his home for a meal. Thank you for continuing to inspire us, even through these crazy times.

AWESOME! Thank you for sharing! “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Outstanding....You’re Best Video yet. You are a 100% right about the journey being about the people. I didn’t realize until you put into words in this episode... the reason I enjoy your adventure...it's the relationships you've developed with people along your path. The world needs to see more and more of this exact time of interaction, maybe then we would just figure out, we are all just people....not countries, not ethnicities, not dissimilar languages, just People. Keep up the fantastic work…and please keep introducing us to new places, new experiences, and new people along the way. Thank you so much!

Even when Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam was in conflict I was in Laos and Cambodia and found that being outgoing and friendly "except those who were paid to kill you" made a lot more trust than being a grump. Of course we had to be always careful and watchful but still I had many good responses. Keep the vids coming my friends and gavagudun.

I have found that your hints and advice in this video are so true . Slow down smile and wave makes for some of the best moments you may ever have in life . This video is so inspirational and that’s one of the biggest reasons I enjoy coming along on this adventure as a over landing friend . The people that you meet will some times show you places you may never know were there so seeing it threw there eyes some times is just so awesome to experience ..cheers to a totally awesome video . And keep up the good work , you two have made me realize that over landing is about so much more then just traveling down the road to the next place .
