I'm convinced this episode is a turning point and sort of the beginning of the end (of the Republic and Anakin) in a domino effect sort of way. Luminara doesn't show any care toward Barriss and basically plans to leave her to die --> Barriss becomes disillusioned with the Jedi Order --> Barriss frames Ahsoka --> Ahsoka leaves the Order --> that's the one of the last straws for Anakin --> Anakin falls. not that Ahsoka staying would have necessarily prevented his fall, but it was definitely a factor. on rewatch, I love thinking that one incident starts a whole chain of events with disastrous consequences

They are tattoos which Mirialans earn after a great accomplishment. Fellow Mirialans can tell what sort of person you are, what you have done, by the choice of tattoos. The patterns mean somehting. They're a pretty interesting culture. Their religion incorporates a lot of Jedi concepts about the Cosmic Force. I love Barriss' line "I don't know what to do without the bombs." because by season 5 she figured what to do if she got more of them. Dramatic irony!

According to legends, the Gree haircut is a specific style adopted by troops who want to remember those lost on tibrin, referenced in rookies “No worse than that time on tibrin” “We had Jedi with us on tibrin, they helped” In canon, it’s also been noted Barriss wanted to avoid the war. The second battle of geonosis was her first field mission in some time, so it does make sense she was freaked out by the end of the plan

The two red stripes are a sign of respect to a very early battle in the clone wars that ended up on a ton of dead troopers, in lore it's supposed to be a somewhat common symbol among the divisions involved in the fight. As for the white guns, it could just be a lighting error, but it might also be to reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the sun so they don't rapidly overheat in battle.

With a master like Luminara, it's no wonder her apprentice, Barriss, went bad. Look, I get that you shouldn't the death of someone you care about drastically change you like what happened to Anakin when his mother died and the fear for his wife. But at least try looking for their bodies in case they survived. If Anakin hadn't taken the moment to look for them, Ahsoka and Barriss would've died trapped in rubble. And yet Anakin needed to learn a lesson in attachments? Well maybe if you care a bit more about your apprentice, Luminara, she wouldn't have become a traitor.

I am kinda shocked that those super battle tanks were able to tank hits from artillery guns. Especially considering they are themselves artillery pieces. Considering the size of their payloads though, I wonder if like 70% of the vehicle is focused on over powered rayshield generators and the rest is dedicated towards actually moving and firing.

1:38 The weird things the clones were standing around were E-web guns if I am not mistaken. The one part is the gun on the tripod and the other part is a large power cell. 6:27 is shot thru the hologram from the bottom left corner looking up at Anakin, but I think the animation team realized (or it just rendered this way with the lighting - similar to the clone's whiteish DC-15s) that they needed to fade out the corner of the large flat piece of terrain the factory sat on and parts of the factory itself in order to see anakin, it's very strange. 9:00 the Tactical droids are played by a rotating cast made of actors mostly already on the show, Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka) does one for The Citadel arc, I believe Matthew Wood and James Arnold Taylor also do some at one point, as well as Dee Bradley Baker (the Clones) at least once, because of course that overworking madman did. 12:31 I'm almost certain all of the geonosians we see up until the next episode are all sentient, conscious, and of their own free will. It isn't until Poggle's main forces (his massive droid factories) are destroyed and he has fled to the safety of the Progate temple catacombs (where I note that not even the droids he did arrive with were allowed to go/survived) that he is able to use his "wunderwaffe" if you will, his last resort "it'll single handedly win the war" weapons. Until then all Republic war crimes are 100% gamer moments. 18:13 The 501st couldn't use this tactic on the planet in season 7 because, well, there is already a large contingent of 212th on there with Kenobi, plus I assume the Republic needed the bridge in order to move its walkers, assuming the other side of the gorge is all enemy controlled territory they couldn't just dropship them in or land them via Aclimators or they would be pulling a Ryloth part 2. sorry I'm a nerd lmfao 😂

One thing that I think is very interesting is the fact that Luminaria’s outfit is very clearly based, albeit loosely, on a Catholic nun’s habit, but Barriss’ outfit is very clearly based on an abaya and a loose hijab. And the designers really did their homework, because if somebody were wearing a hijab as loosely as she does, they would also traditionally wear an underscarf or undercap, which we actually do see her wearing whenever she doesn’t have the lighter hijab-like garment on.

Gonna overanalyze you a bit here. Animation only refers to movement of things. Like a sword swinging, the motion of that swing is animation. If something is a different color or what makes up the surface of an object, thats the texture. And lastly the objects themselves are models.
