I like how the dude recommends an overclock before buying a new GPU to extend the life of your existing one.

I purchased a 1080 ti FTW3 Hybrid on eBay that is functional on older drivers, but above 46x.x the system becomes almost completely unresponsive. Power Consumption shows 0.0% TDP, and the VRAM fan never spins. Temps stay in the 38° range. Any idea what would cause this? Bad fan controller? Bad INA3221? Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Great info and well presented Jan. Easy to understand and follow. I now have it in my favourites as although the 2080TI has been out for a while it's very expensive, and I think the 1080TI upgrade for me will be fine in my planned new build. Thanks again.

I’m new to overclocking. I had my 1080ti ftw3 for years now. Does this over clocking really make a huge difference? Also, do I have to click the switch on the card itself before I attempt this? I’d like to upgrade but only if I have to. I never overclocked the card and if this makes it just as good as a 3080 I’d be happy. Thanks for any response will help.
