Nobody who hasn't been thru this understands how painful this condition is , and very very discouraging it is to have doctors tell you the pain is in your head. I'm at the lowest point of my life right now and I'm going thru exactly what he went thru so accurate thank you for this video I am swing every doctor possible at the Cleveland clinic and I will use this information to help guide them to helping me ty!

@@programmer649 I'm just dealing with mine, these are my symptoms: - pain in my perineum, penile base, around my anal sphincter. - a feeling like there's a golf ball above my perineum whenever I sit down, couldn't sit down for more than 2 minutes. - sometimes it was hard to start urinating. - pain below my belly button. I was recommended reverse kegels and man, it did it for me.

This is uncomfortable to say, but I've contemplated suicide for a while now. I've lost everything, I don't even feel human anymore. 5 years in fighting and trying to understand what's happening, doctor after doctor. I'm in tears hearing someone describe everything I've been going through and then say they got better. Even if it's a little, a little is a lot when you can't even stand to wake up anymore. This gives me hope. I've started all of the stretch routines from both of you and I feel it, I understand it now. Thank you so much! I will continue stretching, diet, everything. Writing this was to thank you but I can't even put it into words. Relief, and relaxed for a change. Thank you!

Only day 4 of stretching 2 to 3 times a day and I'm already feeling muscles relax, I'm stretching further, pain is reduced, there is a lot I'm noticing! The biggest thing I notice is how much better my mind is feeling after. Sometimes it's hard to get myself to stretch in the morning but I put on one of your KZbin videos and I'm instantly motivated ! The way you have explained everything really helped me understand and I'm able to picture what is happening. I don't want to over sell it, I have a long way to go, but I'm better than I was 6 days ago. The constipation is also getting better and I can tell it's all related. It's nice to focus on my body instead of just fighting it like I was before. Thanks

I've been through it. I had testicular pain for about a decade. All urologist said I was fine. One urologist told me I just had to live with pain. I accepted the pain and lived with it for years. One day after ejaculating the constant need to pee was so bad it had me in tears, I became suicidal. I envisioned taking my own life, I saw no way out. Once again I went to a Urologist, a different one this time. I reached rock bottom. I told him that I lost interest in life. "I'm going to send you to physical therapy for 3 weeks". He told me to believe in it. It changed my life I'm 90% cured, I'm very happy again. I enjoy my kids, my life, I can go out in the cold. I got my life back

What an incredible and honest interview! Thanks for sharing your experience. There are a lot of men out there who are suffering and have been suffering for years some for decades. Getting the right therapist, following their advice, doing regular stretches , doing internal and external trigger point releases, doing diaphragm breathing, doing paradoxical relaxation of mind, keeping a check on your diet, eliminating food, drinks that cause inflammation and staying positive are really some of the key elements in getting better. And there is no silver bullet, its not a quick fix, resolving pelvic pain issues takes time and flare ups along the way are part of this journey which will make you feel dejected and lose hope but you have got to look at the brighter side and stay positive! I have had this issue for a decade. What helped the most was physical therapy and diet. I had a gut imbalance from antibiotics in the beginning. Gluten, grains and dairy where the major issues. I took apple cider vinegar to kill off a ton of mold from my gut. This was HUGE and got me over the hill. Diet is a massive part of this condition.

This is a mirror story to my battle with IC and pelvic pain 4 years ago. I had exactly the same symptoms and could completely relate to his answer to either pray and find the spiritual side to this pain or just give up. Learning I had in fact developed an antibiotic resistant infection (brought on by....surprise surprise...antibiotics) caused so much satellite pelvic pain I didn’t know which way to go. Finally after finding a pelvic pain therapist, I discovered how my C section scars, hypertonic pelvic muscles and antibiotics over the years from bladder infections, caused this pattern of dysfunction. I’m much better but still it’s a journey. I have so much love and admiration for people who go through this. The pain is unbearable. Thank you for highlighting this issue FemFusion. This interview made me cry. i am so grateful for you both talking openly about your journey. I feel that Michael has really gone to the heart of the matter and taken on board the spiritual implications of this pain. i am a woman but my journey is so similar and its on;y today that i have found this amazing u tube channel. I never considered gut health because i am so used to having a funny tummy i just thought it was normal! I thought my funny eating-( i hardly eat any amount, crave cakes, chocolate, cream and caffine, iam very skinny- ) was caused by being in pain all the time but now i see it could be contributing to the pain. i dont have a lot of stomach upsets but i think that is because i subconsciously, avoid eating. Do you think this sounds like a possible gut issue? My pelvic symptoms are pain, lots of it, and not really anything else. Bless you on your journey. And thank you again.

I have a similar journey with pelvic floor pain and severe low back pain. Its been at least 30 years and chronic, I long for the day to inhale a full breath without pain and also move the body without restriction. @@anshuls8861Chronic sacrum and pelvic pain mostly from groin to low sacrum. Restriction results everywhere else too. Left sterno mastoid, right front shoulder, left hamstring, ect.......... Things were okay lately until 2 days ago. I woke up with a SEVERE sharp pain in upper right thigh and trochanter area. Cant put weight on it, and can't lift my foot more than 4 inches without shooting pain. I think it's a nerve but not sure. Very tough to even use the gas pedal on my car.

My condition isn't exactly the same- I have lateral hip pain, but I can still relate to a lot of this. I am still in my journey to find healing. The most discouraging part has been interacting with doctors/pts who just to be blunt do not care. The most encouraging part has come through my faith, restorative stretching. I believe I will be fully restored.

I've been very athletic all my life. I started having symptoms around 20. I'm 48 now. I've been series pain for the last 6 years. I basically diagnose myself. Finally figured out what's wrong with me. The doctors couldn't figure it out. Double over in pain fixing to pass out. Happens so often. Very scary hurts very bad.

So great to hear a fellow male sufferers story! Michael have you ever considered doing an Elemental Diet? It's about as strict an elimination diet you can get. I know antibiotics get a bashing from many pelvic floor therapists, but I'd like to point out current mainstream testing options for chronic UTIs and prostatitis are woefully inadequate, and urine cultures will only pick up planktonic bacteria (if you are lucky) that are fast growing. They will completely fail to reveal infection from fastidious slow- growing bacteria, or intracellular bacteria, often hidden in biofilms. Therefore it is entirely plausible that there are many men (and women) that are walking around with untreated infections that the basic tests won't reveal. A few pioneering doctors like Professor James Malone-Lee have done a lot of research into this and have successfully treated many painful bladder and prostatitis patients (with previous negative test results), with ... .. long term antibiotics! It can take years, but many of them get full or almost 100% recovery in the end. He uses the older narrow-spectrum antibiotics that are difficult to develop a resistance to.

About the job part, I work at a I guess you could say a fast food place and I’m always standing or pacing around and a lot of the times it would get super busy I’d stop myself from using the restroom and I’d just be pacing around back and forth doing so many things and I really noticed my body getting so tense and sore. While doing that I’d try to work out while also changing my diet and it’s been a lot at 21 years old now I think this has been going on for about a year but with in the past 6 months it’s been a bit more prominent and it would cause the worst anxiety and fear but I’m so glad I’ve found your channel because when I do practice your videos consistently I feel a difference and when I stop for about a week or two I’ve noticed the pain coming back.

Hey buddy, I think the reason that it’s better in the morning because you’re sleeping at night and your body becomes relaxed. I have this problem on and off all the time. For many years. I’m 43 years old. The first time it happened I was 26. I was dealing with the stress situation of breaking up with a girlfriend. And, it has happened on and off ever sense. I have noticed something when I’m on vacation it goes away. Have you tried muscle relaxers?

Myo feedback can help too, to change the hyper tonacity of the pelvic floor, together with dryneedling the hyper toned muscles. a pelvic floor specialist can help with this. Also adductors and lower belly muscles can play a role. Also a chiropracter can check the nerves, nerves could be part of the problem as wel, your pelvic bones might need a reajustment.

I have been feeling it for a month and its frustrating, sometimes it feels better but the pain comesback, it has not gotten worse, it is a stable pain sentivity.. this is such a new feeling , I have been deppressed, stressed out, nervous. Lately I have been able to relate to this. I have had g.i track problems for years now and a few months back, began to have pelvic floor pain as well. Thank you for this video, the pelvic stretches has been helping Lately. Most of my pain is in my urethra. My urologist has checked everything though and can't figure it out. It might have something to do with my g.i track issues though.

michael, I will watch your story without interview, so I can keep the steady stream of consciousness. I get distracted easily while experiencing this unique pain I resisted watching something with a dude... huh? I get this; I was an athlete, fit, jazzercise was my friend during difficulty; had broken my pelvis in 22 places at age 34 and totally dislocated my SI joint, so all this now makes sense. The dark times need to be waded thru... My marriage ended during this crazy year of exhaustive pudendal involvement... the 3.5 years prior was what we THOUGHT was sciatic stuff thru the ischial tuberosity. Now I believe it's all pudendal impingement. Doing my best to marshal on.

Just found out that I probably have pelvic pain syndrome. I have known for a while that I have serious bone on bone arthritis in my left hip and have been awaiting surgery. I will consult with my surgeon, but my question for you is, “should I First get pelvic floor, PT and then the surgery, or the other way around. I have found that most of my medical professionals are pretty unfamiliar with pelvic pain, which has been frustrating. Thanks for what you do!

Wow, I have the exact same story. My pain is here since 1 and a half years. And it’s so obvious that the muscles in my pelvic floor are also in tension and not being „weak“. I just have a question… You two are talking about „not sitting much“ and „being active“ and so on… But I have a problem that I‘m a programmer and I will not get away with this kind of job PLUS i love gaming, now what would you say, is it possible to overcome all of this while still maintaining my job and my „Love“ for gaming ?

I went to the gym and could only train my upper body because I was scared of training my legs because of the pain. I‘m trying to be as active as possible but I may should try go for walks more to like „balance“ my sitting, my workout, am I right ? Besides of the stretching and muscle relaxing. Hi there. Thanks for the question. If you have not sone so already, you should take a look at our 12 week Overcome Pelvic Pain program. It will guide your through the steps that will allow you to sit comfortably. The goal is to release the muscles and relax the pelvis to the point where you can sit with no problem. In the meantime, vary your positions, if you can use a pillow or a standing desk from time-to-time, that might be a good idea. I have a history of 10+ years of pelvic/sexual/lower back pain as a man, Failed physical therapy/yoga/antibiotics at the start. it was Graston technique/ASTYM/Gui Sha that finally started getting me real improvement. I had lots of abdominal/pelvic/pubis/hamstring scar tissue that I slowly broke down. Then this year, started physical therapy and more recently again, started using a wand on the pelvic floor, lots of trigger points/scar tissue. Yesterday I felt finally able to do a yoga class, and I am of course, continuing with the pelvic wand and lower back/pelvic scar tissue break up. Still have about 20% of my original symptoms but I am still improving.

Joe baggins i just started seeing a Non-Physician Osteopath who believes that the cause of all my problems is due to Abdominal Adhesions. He hasn’t even treated my Pelvic Floor at all, yet i’m in a lot less pain, discomfort, and the dysfunction is occuring less and less, little by little. He’s using a baby steps approach and i believe in what he says, it actually makes sense for everything that i have, small intestine obstruction (which was later confirmed by a CT Scan), sacroiliac joint dysfunction, Pelvic Floor dysfunction, it cancels everything out with one answer. And i’ve had the Abdominal Adhesions ever since i was a kid, my Appendix ruptured and all the infection spread around my gut, and also because i had a surgery to remove the Appendix, which also causes Adhesions to form as well. I started seeing this guy shortly after my bad urinary retention, and i’m back to peeing on my own and i’ve felt the baby steps towards improvement, little by little! He believes it’s going to take quite a bit of time to feel normal again, and to feel the pain, discomfort, and dysfunction to be completely eliminated, but he really believes that i will be cured. Although he says i’m going to have to make alot of lifestyle changes, such as doing alot of yoga, stretching daily everyday for the rest of my life, taking many supplements to promote regularity and inflammation, and alot of other self-care things. He uses a Visceral Manipulation approach, basically he uses his hands to identify your problems and pain, dysfunction, everything you feel he can feel too with his own hands, it sounds like bullshit (trust me i thought it was too), but when he told me what he felt in my small intestine was actually later confirmed by a scan, i became a complete believer in him. He’s very good at what he does, and i finally feel like i’m on the right path to getting my life back!

@@VinayakSwaroop5 I made a full recovery. Found out alot of my symptoms came from having a neurotransmitter deficiency. A whole lot of symptoms improved with using a Antidepressant. Then tested out a 5 HTP supplement and got even more improvement, Hydroxytryptophan is an amino acid that is used to create Serotonin in the small intestine. Now i've been able to come off the medication and rely solely on the supplement. Definitely was a journey. I thought becoming symptom free was impossible. but i got to that point and now i struggle not having any more big goals to reach or direction in life.

I can relate to this so much, only I feel like I’m at a worse place in other aspects my urologist has told me I have ic as a 28 year old. Suffer from sexual dysfunction and urgency and low bladder capacity. I have started down this path once and noticed to a degree remission for a year or so besides the sexual dysfunction, I am now on year 4 of this and I’m at my breaking point and starting down this path again but this time it’s a lifestyle. There is definitely a mind body connection with this issue which is my biggest problem, after being alone due to the issues for 4 years, but I’m trying there is no other option!

I also think the diet part of pelvic floor dysfunction might just be a placebo effect, or maybe even just foods that help reduce anxiety can help because stress/anxiety contribute alot to PFD. Like even when i got PFD diagnosed, just getting a diagnosis after 2 months of not knowing anything reduced my pain instantly

After learning and understanding more from the best holistic healthcare practicioners in the world, I've learned that stress and diet play a huge role in PFD. Stress/Anxiety/Depression, Neurotransmitters, Serotonin, are all connected to PFD. Serotonin deficiency can lead to reduced pain modulation and sensitivity to pain, also physiologically when the body is under stress the body's natural "bracing" response is the fetal position, which causes the shoulders to rise up and the tailbone to tuck, the pelvic floor is connected to the tailbone, and will be in pain with a tailbone that is in spasm. As for diet, inflammation can add more of a bearing gravity to the pelvis, which can add more stress to the pelvic floor which lies at the very bottom of the pelvis. Food sensitivities play a huge role in creating intestinal inflammation, which just adds more gravity to the pelvis, which is like a bookcase. The books are things like constipation and inflammation. Gluten, Corn, Rice, Wheat, and Potatoes were major contributing factors to my PFD, and so was a deficiency in Serotonin. My PFD is completely under my control now, and is managed by however good i want to feel based on motivation for self-care. I'm 22 years-old and after 3 years of learning the incomprehensible from the world's finest minds, i wanted to share this with you all.

Currently, I eat lean meat (chicken, fish, beef), eggs, lots of vegetables, and rice. I am not eating dairy (except butter), nuts, grains, legumes, black tea of coffee, or sugars (very minimal fruit). I also take Path-DS, Monolaurin, and Super Enzymes with some meals. I have followed this diet for a year now.

This is very sad. I feel exactly how he does prior to seeing his Chinese medicine doctor. Its going 3 years, finally learned in September that my pelvic floor is too tight. I'm extremely discouraged and sad. Coming from someone who loves weight lifting and running this is ruining me. My career is based in this. How long does this realistically take?

I got pelvic floor pain from IBS. Will I need to treat it the same way as this guy? I’m in so much pain. I can’t sleep and my quality of life is depressing. I went to see a physiotherapist last week for a consultation. I go see her again on Wednesday. Hopefully I can get rid of this pain very soon. I can’t cope with the pain.

I can eat and drink what i want, but as soon as i get cold in my groin the muscles tense up and pain comes. So my body reacts on cold. Warmth, stretching and yoga does the trick.

@@michellerabadi4388 I started a little over a month ago. And I started having ok days 3 days ago. But I can be ok for half a day and the pain comes out of nowhere. But I hope it starts to become less. There's a chance every 2 weeks that I have noticed. You are probably way ahead now. I'm starting to feel the chance. But I changed my diet completely, and I started taking antifungal natural stuff... like cloves in the morning, cinnamon tea, garlic and I oregano oil ( 3 drops to kill bacteria). And started taking probiotics. But now I've been bloated, gas, and constipated. I don't know if I'm having a Candida overgrowth Die off. I was having problems with my stomach do to so many antibiotics that urologist gave me for a long time, that didn't fix the problem. I think I developed overgrowth candida. And now I'm dealing with this issue. Its very hard to deal with testicle and perineum pain along with bloating, gas and abdominal pain. I feel like I'm being punished. Antibiotics will destroy you real bad. I didn't know anything about the importance of probiotics when taking antibiotics. I was ignorant and my urologist is a complete idiot for not telling me to protect my stomach after all the poison he prescribed me. Now I'm trying to get my health back to normal. But I'm still staying focused on the stretching and going to my physical therapy

@@paultaylorgolfinstruction Hey i would want to add something. I started having pelvic discomfort after my ankle injury. If you can't walk properly because you hurt your ankle, you would automatically tighten your pelvic floor muscles when walking. It's basically an involuntary reflex to tighten your pelvis muscles. So i have deduced that my root cause is my ankle injury. I have it since years. I have to work on both now. Just putting ot out there if anyone needs to know. PS thanks for the reply

Hey great video. I am having this same symptoms. I believe that this came from a colonic I had a few months back from the tube that was inserted in my rectum. I did the colonic because I was having severe GI issues were I was constantly smelling like sewer/fart/poop all the time. I need help for sure. I live close to the bay area. But I go to Dallas often. Hello, anyone here has symptoms in the urethra? I have had urethral pain for 5 years, sometimes it hurts when I go to urinate, and also sometimes when I ejaculate. I'm 28 years now. I tried all the doctors, and several urologists and now I went to one that said to me that this is probably Chronic Pelvic Pain, I started researching about it and it really makes sense. I made all kinds of exams and medication. The only thing that helped me a bit was the psychiatric medicines, like diazepam. I had lots of suicidal thoughts. I have times when I feel better, especially when it's warmer and sunny. Does anyone feel similar?

I had these problems bad for a long time, then when I was in basic training it was essentially 8 weeks of only sitting down for a few hours a day. When I got out I never really felt the symptoms anymore, but then I went back to school where I'm sitting in class 8 hours day and now the problems have come back
