A single stemmed one I bought last spring lasted 4-5 months on my kitchen island. I planted it outdoors in zone 6b ( USA) as an experiment and mulched it with fall leaves in a cage. It made it threw subzero temperatures and is now quite full with lots of flier heads. I’m impressed this little gift plant is an easy-Peasy hydrangea!

Stunning!! My local store just got in some magical revolution hydrangeas. Wondering if they are similar to these. If so I'm going shopping lol

Yes, this is the same plant. I think, when we got trial plants originally, they came in as part of the "Everlasting" series, and now it appears they are included under the Magical® banner, so by all means think about getting it. Incidentally, have you noticed that elsewhere on this channel, we have several other "Magical®" selections featured? If not, here's a few links that you might want to check out: Hydrangea Magical® Ruby Red - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKeloYSAqKt_eLs Hydrangea Magical® Candle: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2bEfHyJi7qBnck Cephalanthus Magical® Moonlight - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmLTi6SkfdiMbas Forsythia Magical Gold® kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3XJdoePnNB9eM0 We have trailed and tested all of these ones and they are excellent selections that perform really well here in our region, so maybe you will want to try them too. If so, here's a link that will help you find where all the partnering garden centers that carry our plants are located: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/. This is where you will be able to see nice, big, healthy, premium sized plants like we feature in the videos, and where you will be able to buy your plants and get off to a great start. Also, please stay tuned, keep us updated on your progress, and if you haven't yet, consider subscribing to our channel. And it would be really great if you could kindly click the "like" icon on any of our videos that you find helpful, because that helps other people find out about the information too.

I bought one recently at a local garden centre in Vancouver, BC. No flowers or buds yet, only some new shoots about 10 cm. I wish I could see some blooms this year. 😅
@OverdevestNurseries6 ай бұрын
It's a stocky grower and takes a little while to get going (compared to several of the other selections), but in time, your "baby" should start to produce buds and then you will be able to watch them develop into those tight, sturdy and very beautiful blooms. As you've probably noticed in our videos, our plants are shipped out when they are in flower, so in this region (Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern States), everyone is able to gain some time and get an almost instant effect with our premium sized plants, plus of course at our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ it is then possible to see, touch and admire the flowers in all their glory.... even before you buy them. 😜👏👍 Thanks for watching, have you subscribed to our channel yet? If you haven't, you might like to think about it, because once you are subscribed, each time we post a new video (which we are doing all the time), you will find that they will turn up automatically in your feed. So excited you guys are selling these Magical Series Hydrangeas in US now. I've seen them in other markets for a while, but not in US until last year. (Maybe just a late introduction in my area) I live in Indiana. Unfortunately, I don't see any nurseries here do business with you guys. I want so many of your hydrangea varieties!!! 😍😍😍

I suspect other nurseries (in your region) will be producing more of these types, and of course, if you ever make any trips eastwards you could try reaching out to some of our partnering garden centers and see if they can fix you up. Here's a link to a locator that will help you find some of the places in towns that you might be visiting: www.grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/

I have one of these here in Zone 7b - Long Island, NY - I have it in partial sun (morning sun until around 1pm, then shade the rest of the day). It doesn't seem to be doing very well. The leaves look like they have chlorosis and it's not putting on much new growth. Should I consider moving it to a sunnier or shadier location? I feed it with rose-tone a few times a year so I'm pretty sure it's not a nutrient issue. Please help! I want this to survive so badly haha. Let me know what you think....
@OverdevestNurseries2 жыл бұрын
On Long Island you should be able to grow beautiful hydrangeas, it is obviously not happy and it sounds like there's something going on at it's roots (too wet, too dry, something that it doesn't like etc. etc.). It is hard to guide you without seeing the soil conditions, location, surroundings etc. So if there's any local master gardeners, extension office people, experienced garden coaches etc. that you can tap into, that should be helpful. Meanwhile, if it were my plant, I would try to "nurse" it back to health by applying a top dressing layer of organic material (garden compost, a potting compost etc. and mulching to keep the roots cool and moist during the summer. This organic rich material should encourage some new rooting and with some supplemental watering during dry periods it should start to "green up" and start producing new lusher growth. Finally, here's a link to our partnering garden centers on the island that might be able to help with some more advice, guidance and supplies: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/

Beautiful. We have Everlasting Garnet and Everlasting Amethyst but the latter only blooms on old wood which is disappointing for us in zone 5. We’ve heard that Everlasting Revolution blooms on both old and new wood.
@OverdevestNurseries4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we have heard that too. Our trials are too recent to confirm this, it will take another couple of seasons to know definitively, but it certainly is a performer in terms of flower bud production and sturdiness.
@jacquelinek223 жыл бұрын
That must be it for my own. I have 5 planted in a row. And have never had blooms. I also live in 5b. And think maybe the buds are dying off due to cold. Bummer..
@GardenDoodles3 жыл бұрын
@@jacquelinek22 If you have Everlasting Revolution you should get some blooms later in the summer because it should grow on old and new wood like Everlasting Garnet (we have one). We have never had any blooms on Everlasting Amethyst though and it’s been 3 years! We planted it the same time as the Everlasting Garnet so it might be time to yank it because it’s just not cold hardy enough for us here, in zone 5b also.

I have had mine for 3 years and have never flowered. Lots of foliage though.

Sounds like the tips (with the embryonic flower buds) are getting killed in winter, so you may have to consider protecting it to insulate them, so that they will grow out and flower next year. If you stay tuned (perhaps even consider subscribing to thus channel), I intend to film a video later this year, that will show you ways how to do this. Alternatively, you might want to research other varieties featured on this channel or talk to the experts at one of partnering garden centers and get their suggestions for varieties that flower on new growth made during the current year. Here's a link that will show you here they are all located: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/

So disregard to my prior message… My naughty plant has finally decided to bloom- profusely.. after I moved 4 or the 5 plants to another location. Then the one that wasn’t moved yet decided to save itself and over bloom this year . Ugh now I want all of the others that were moved, back to where they were originally. I think the issue of the lack of blooms was due to Bud kill. In the fall I will return the 4 plants back to there original location. But now aware to take more freeze precautions.. ugh. Garnering.
