Nicely done. I have a drawer system for my FZJ80 being built now - to 45 inch deep drawers, false tops to fit inside that I can remove and use for flat surfaces, and a tiny flip up desk that will be integrated into the box to cover the onboard air I have on the right wheel well. I can’t wait.

awesoooommmmeeee!!!!! Ok love your set up and have seen one on a disco that blew my mind. The only real difference was that instead of your spare tire holder opening to 90 deg, he fabed it to open 180 deg doubling the counter space by really adding simple drop downs on the inside of the spare tire arm. Its kinda ninja badassery.....just like you guys!!

I know this might be expensive, but adding a 18/8 304 stainless slab on the top of your tailgate would eliminate the cutting board and give you a more durable work surface. Having 8% nickel would also help with corrosion resistance.

I’ve gone back and forth with this, and ultimately it came down to me wanting to have single use surfaces designated for food. But I’ve seen awesome setups with what you’re describing! -Corrie

Have you guys thought about pre-cracking your eggs? When I prep for a trip I crack 3 or 4 eggs and put them in a plastic water bottle. That way you don't have to worry about them breaking prematurely. Also saves time and space in your fridge! Great tip I learned from Ronny Dahl.

Love the kitchen, and yes the eye rolls because they were earned. LOL I am going to put a 22" blackstone in mine which "should" eliminate the need for pots and pans. But we will see. Thank you for starting this community. I have been a big fan for quite a while and am finally getting the chance to go out on my first adventure the first week in October. Been watching Coddiwopple overland because they did some trips in my home state of WV and so my first adventure will be doing the canaan loop road and spruce knob along with hopefully Dolly sods wilderness area. I say hopefully because it isn't open year round and am not sure when they will close the road to Dolly sods. Thanks for the inspiration. Michael Houston OB5044

Like the draw system for storage, but not convinced how practical your kitchen lay out is when actually in use? Surely when on a trip, the flat area on top of the draws your using as counter top will in reality be full of kit? Would think that a slide out "work top" that sits under the present draws might be a possibility???
@wanderingwinters3 жыл бұрын
Great setup guys! nice to see the drawer system coming together for you. Pro tip for a kitchen drawer if to add a piece of stainless steel to the top of the drawer so you have more of that precious flat space. We added it to our Decked Drawer system in the pick up and its a game changer!
@619ken3 жыл бұрын
i just got a decked. i would love to find out about your stainless topper
@wanderingwinters3 жыл бұрын
@@619ken congrats on the Decked system! As for the topper we went to a metal fabricator and had a piece cut to size to fit. The drop in is 32” long and 18-3/4” wide so it fits and the drawer will still close with it in there. It’s 1/8” thick. Real game changer as you can never have enough usable work space! We left ours just a work bench but you can go all out and cut out holes for a sink or even a stove, the worlds your oyster

Great setup I've developed one similar in my mind and on paper years ago, time to get someone to build it for me. Just a head's up on the veggies frying, you can use a 1/4" of water instead of oil and get great results. Great presentation Thank you for all you do

Nice setup. How do you deal with aal the cooking sprays that jumps everywhere when cooking something. Also the liquids driping directly next to the vehicle, does that not effect the area you stay in alot by walking through mud whenever you at the vehicle and then wants to get back into the living space?

Good stuff guys : ) Drawers are on the must-do list for me but I've found that I tend to leave camp a lot and want to claim my spot. First video from you channel, it came up when searching 'kitchen setup'. Honestly, this guy would not live for very long if he would be 'working' with me. "OK, honey, you do that, I'm going to check the tires".... then stick around, doing stuff, correcting her, telling her what to 'learn', and talking to her like with a kid. Cudos, lady, for putting up with him. It just made me nervous while watching you struggling with his attitude. It is clear that he 'lets you do stuff he could do anyhow better and faster'. I stopped watching at 4:00 , his last "can I just .......sorry..", while he tried grabbing something from in front of her". Again, CUDOS for you, lady.
