My sincere condolences as to the losses you have experienced recently of your loved ones. It is especially hard around the Holidays, but of course, so hard to lose family anytime. I sincerely hope that you can relax and enjoy this time with your loved ones and sharing wonderful memories of the past with those who are now gone. This is my 4th Christmas without my hubby. 2024 would have been our 60th. wedding anniversary, but I have lots and lots of wonderful memories of the years gone by. Take care. We just sold our house and are now living in our Airstream full time until we find a new home base. As we are surrounded by only the barest minimal essentials in the camper, I agree that family and friends bring fullness and meaning to this season. Missing those dear ones who have passed on brings bittersweet memories, but we are grateful to have had those loved ones in our lives for the time God has allowed.

Its been so much fun following your travels and adventures this past year. I feel your pain with your loss, especially around the holidays. I lost my mom in February of 2021. With all those changes to the downtown Portland, over the decades along the waterfront and all the redevelopment and new buildings I hardly even recognize downtown, especially along the waterfront. Yet I’ve been here my entire life. Sadly, with the loss of my income and the depletion of my savings from overlanding full time; It’s no longer cost-effective to stay in Portland and I’ll probably end up somewhere south, with a lower cost of living. Somethings about PDX will be missed, with a lifetime of memories.
