I also have a furbaby that's my camping/hiking/fishing buddy. Started him off young wearing all the protective gear. So, when I pull out the all-weather booties, rain/snow/life jackets, etc. .. he knows what time it is. With the colder and hotter times, just make sure you're cautious of her paw pads. If it's not long-term exposure, I put doggie balm so the pads don't get irritated. Having a collapsible grate until she's all trained up might be beneficial to your peace of mine while sleeping. Puppies get into everything. All that energy will be tuckered out once she gets in the grove of going on your adventures. ❤ Thanks for taking us along!

Jonathan, get yourself a baby gate for your camper door. It’ll help to keep your dog from bolting on you. We do this with our dogs. All you have to do is lean it against the door on the inside.

My best friends name of 32 years is named Kaya! As a professional Oregon camper dog mom, I have tips. A lunge lead that is 20 ft long will be great for recall trading and for her to get her zoomies out. A collapsible elevated bed is clutch because it will help her dry and keep her out the dirt. No matter where I’m at, my pup will bed down on it. I used a collapsible wire crate for my dogs until they were trusted to not potty and they settle well in it. When it’s excruciatingly hot and we’re not in water, I’ll put it in the shade and dogs stay cooler not running around. Cover up your cushions or she will stink them up as they act like giant sponges. Lots of treats and chewies are given. I lost one of my late fur babies for 3 days and it would have never happened if I had a gps tracking system. I have a subscription collar that lets me mark a perimeter and works offline. AirTag collars are good too. I’m crazy and carry a dog travel bag. It includes shampoo, tick stuff, vet wrap, gauze and wound cleaner. Tweezers, comb, nail clippers, collapsible bowl, toys, poo bags, dog bug spray and extra leashes. Next adventure and REI resupply store in Clackamas has good dog stuff that you can trade back when she outgrows them! Can’t wait to watch her grow.

Thank you for taking us along. I love your puppy! Just a couple of suggestions: -get a crate that will fit in the backseat of the truck. That will keep her safer when you are driving. It also gives her her own space to rest & somewhere to put her when you want to go on an adventure without her. - for the camper, consider getting her her own doggie bed or at least a blanket that is hers. This again gives her a place to settle. And one last piece: teach her the command ‘post’ - meaning she learns to go around posts the same side you are when on leash. It’s great when you are walking on a sidewalk or in forest & they know to watch where you are. Sorry about your mug too!

Dog could have gas due to the type of food you feed him. My last dog couldn’t eat wheat based foods otherwise she would fart all day. I switched her to rice and chicken based foods. Maybe look into the dog food Kaya is eating and try different varieties in what grain is used

A nice low key camping adventure for a First Snow ❄ for Kiya. She loved every single minute 😍 ❤ 💕. The table leg holes.... fill them with something so Kiya won't jump down and catch her paws in them. She's very active and IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN, just keeping you BOTH safeguarded👌.

Kya could have pulled you on skis! She's wonderful Jonathan and you and Tessa have trained her so well. What a beautiful place is Oregon. I have family in Gresham but have never been to the Oregon Coast even tho I am a Southetn Californian. The Cascades are gorgeous in the snow. A million Christmas trees dressed in white. Kaya needs tons of exercise (Running), and since she can't do that right now since she isn't in an enclosed yard, Can you get her a super long leash that you can extend the length while holding it, so she can run a bit more in a big open area like your in? Kaya sure loves snow, it was a big day for her❤❤🙏🐾🙏

I can't wait for next year. When Kaya is more trained and playing in the snow, and you do a quick flashback when she first saw snow and her reaction. That would be awesome. Especially if you teach her how to snowboard with you. That would be so cool. I would love to see that! Others have taught dogs how to skateboard and water ski. Maybe Kaya could be the first dog to become famous as the snowboarding dog. Is it Kaya, or is it Kia?

Glad that Kia is working out, and she's really a cute dog. You might try feeding her some egg and bacon from time to time they don't always have to have dry food which sometimes doesn't always work for their tummies. However you still haven't answered the question, which I kind of hope you do about the cat. I know a lot of viewers, including myself are CAT people too. I believe your kitty is still very important, but I'm just kind of curious how they get along? Many households have both animals.

Love the video! Fellow dog lover here. Try Looking Into fresh food for kaya. Like farmers dog. Studies are in, Dogs are living up to 5+ years long and they have zero cancer or tumors. Kibble is killing our dogs. Like eating McDonald’s for every meal. They’re mammals just like us they need fresh food and they can eat tons of fruits and vegetables. My dogs been eating it for 5 years now and she’s never been healthier! And if it’s too expensive for you you can always make it yourself. Tons of amazing recipes out there. Good luck brother!

My fur baby was about 10 weeks old when we got a decent snow fall it was over her little belly lol. But she’s ca Jack and was only about 7 pounds then. Took her van camping a couple of weeks ago she loved it(had to wait for all her shots to be done). Today she’s 6 months old and loving life. Hope you and your adventure puppy have a blast

Jonathan, the puppy, Kia (is that how you spell her name?), was having a blast in that snow! When she is older I bet she will make a great companion for you. She's doing pretty good on the commands from what you showed, so far anyway. As you said, she's still a puppy. 😂😂😂 Have you ever smelled cat farts? Truth to tell, I'm not sure which has the worse farts, cats or dogs! I have both and sometimes you can barely stand to be around them when one of the farts. And if more than one farts at same time...you really can not stay in the same room with them! We have 8 cats, all but 2 mostly outside cats, and 3 dogs, only one an inside dog, potty trained thank God. The cats of course use litter boxes when in the house. My cats all come inside in the wintertime, but as I said, all but 2 are outside cats otherwise. One cat is blind so she Never goes outside. My oldest baby, a cat, is nearly 17 years old now. Youngest, also a cat, is 2 years old now. Good thing we live in the woods where they can run around without bothering anyone. We do have to watch out for wild animals though, and venomous snakes and a few others. Pretty good video Jonathan.
