Breastside down is how I always cook my turkey. Learned that from mother. You are the only other person I've seen do that. Taste is definitely better than presentation. Thanks for the video

this is the only way I will cook a whole turkey, it is just perfect every single time! I hope you try it

Could I use the baking stone and lid to cover it?
@TheFlipFlopChef21 күн бұрын
It will depend on what size turkey you get but it will produce a lot of broth

It looks so good. Is it correct that you add no fluids to the pan?
@TheFlipFlopChef2 жыл бұрын
That is correct!

Could I cook this in a baking stone?
@TheFlipFlopChef21 күн бұрын
I don’t know if there is a baking stone big enough to make this.

Very interesting. I have always felt it was unsafe to leave the stove on while sleeping, or if you left the house for very long. May I ask the name of the knife you used? Thanks.

Good Morning! At that low of a temp, it shouldn't be dangerous but I never suggest doing something you're not comfortable with.

My aunt does something similar to this. I tried it last year. Was great. Just wish the turkey doesnt sit in the pan drippings whilst cooking. They dont make pans with a rack tall enough for that though
@TheFlipFlopChef6 ай бұрын
it's actually the pan drippings that make it so moist! You want it to sit in them or you won't get the same results

Once the turkey has cooked for the first hour at 400 degrees, do you keep the oven door closed and bring it down to 200 degrees - or try to bring the temperature down in the oven?
@TheFlipFlopChef3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sherri, thanks for watching. Just leave the oven door closed and reduce the temp to 200 degrees. I hope you'll also join my recipe community here: www.theflipflopchef.com

Not so sure about the herb mill. A knife might work better?
@TheFlipFlopChef Жыл бұрын
you can certainly use a knife but I find the herb mill to be so much faster

What size is your turkey? I’m going to cook at 20lbs turkey I’m thinking 13 hours?
@TheFlipFlopChef22 күн бұрын
I do not remember what size turkey I used for my video but the general rule is 1 hour per pound. This link might help: www.theflipflopchef.com/post/overnight-turkey-cook-it-while-you-sleep
